    This is a question related to the www.ads-software.com support forums, which I haven’t used for a few months. When I insert the code backticks the code block now extends to introduce arrows (Latest Chrome Version: 62.0.3202.94). This might be helpful on long, multi-line blocks of code, but when used mid-sentence it obscures the following 2-3 character spaces. Example:

    ================================

    The contact form includes [file my-file limit:50mb filetypes:pdf|doc|docx|odt] and by using the [my-file] shortcode the email I receive contains any attached files.

    ================================

    Thoughts?

    Yea, it really sucks because sometimes you’re better off not using the code button for inline snippets.

    I’m not too sure which style is causing the issue, but a quick fix would be to remove the 1px border on the code tag.

    Glad to see that it’s not just me who’s disturbed by this ?? For now I’ll avoid using them inline. Shame though as they used to be great for separating code from text.

    Umm.. Not seeing it here. Looks okay to me.

    Inline code looks just fine to me.

    Otto do you see the overflow with more characters in the snippets, like barnez’ example?

    No. Looks fine to me. No arrows or overflow or anything else. Maybe it’s the browser or the font size? I’m using Chrome dev version.

    Have a look here: https://snag.gy/DyN7A3.jpg

    Windows 7 Professional, Chrome Version 62.0.3202.94 (Official Build) (64-bit) set to 125%.

    Ahh. If I reduce the screen to 100% magnification then all looks great, but very small. If I increase screen size back to 125%, then the overspill occurs.
