Unreliable but could be so useful

I would really like to give this plugin a higher rating. It is so useful for affiliate sites and being able to add a single price or create your own template is such a great idea. It is easy to use, relatively easy to set up (although Amazon api keys are a nightmare to get in the first place), and creating templates is much easier and quicker than I expected.
The downfall is that the system is unreliable. You can have everything working one day and then the next there is the ‘error-of-death’ with the api keys: “Your AWS Access Key Id is not registered as an Amazon Associate.” Which basically means the connection to Amazon is broken, or your system has somehow sent too many requests to the api and it will no longer connect, it doesn’t mean what it says as the keys were working fine before. In reality it means you have live pages on your website with no prices, or no product information which is awful for a live website.
This plugin is supposed to be made for WordPress which means it should work in all scenarios, it should be able to handle too many requests or there should be something that can be done to prevent the errors, caching of the information perhaps. The error reporting needs to be improved, so that it makes sense to the novice. It is such a shame that something that has the potential to be great, is falling down because of its unreliability problems.
