• The following happened to my website in WordPress 4.8 and 4.9:

After I logged into the admin panel and visit Wordfence —> Live Traffic —> All Traffic, it showed that I logged in with my user name. However, it also listed (under the exact same time, same IP and same host) that I logged in successfully under “another user names”. “another user name” sometimes is the user name I previously deleted, or other invalid user names used by people from the internet try to hack into my site. Further check with Wordfence Dashboard under Login Attempts, the record appeared to be normal.

My website https://www.irgps.org appears to be normal. I also ran the Wordfence Scan but no issues found.

  • Hi ronnieiu,
Could you please share a screenshot showing part of the Live Traffic data so I can get a better idea about this issue?

    Thanks.

See attached captures, the covered area is my login user name.

May I know which caching plugin are you using? and do you have any plugin installed that controls users registration and members management?

    Thanks.

    Hello wfalaa,

I am using WP Super Cache, and I have been using this plugin since I started the website. I have never used any plugin for users registration or members management.

    Hello wfalaa,

Just like to add that I am also using Autoptimize and Cloudflare

    Hi @ronnieiu
Sorry for replying here too late, I was going through all threads replied by me and I noticed I missed this one by mistake, I apologize for that.

If you are still having this issue, then please open the browser console while loading the login page, then click on “Preserve log” checkbox as shown in this screenshot, then try to log in your site just to see if there were multiple requests are made to wp-login.php or not?

There are two other suggestions that you might want to try as well:
    – Try different browser or deactivate the browser’s add-ons if any were installed.
    – Try disabling other installed plugins and re-check this issue.

    Thanks.

    Hello @wfalaa

I have followed your suggestion, there are still repeat traffic displayed, but appeared to be in less ” quantity “. I will try the other two suggestions later.

Now that I have installed a plugin to hide my login page, and since then, I have not seen any strange user names reported as being login, I feel much comfortable. A few repeat traffic displays will not bother me, although it is nice to have it fixed.

    Thank you very much.
