Cant get in admin, cant access site, Redirect Loop. Searched advice doesnt work.

    Hi There.

    I recently installed 2.7 in a sub folder of my main domain. I have several other wp installations in sub folders that all work fine.

    The problem is I get the redirect loop issue. I have deleted all plugins through ftp. I have looked for .htaccess but there doesnt appear to be one for this installation.

    I have searched the forum extensively for and answer to this problem.

    Can anyone offer me another answer.

  • If you tried clearing browser cache and cookies, then if you don’t have anything you need to save from that installation (posts/pages/categories etc), then DROP the CORRECT database tables and just do the wp-admin/install.php again.

    Look in your database under the table wp_options the first option is siteurl. The value for mine here was https://mysite/step=2. I got rid of the step=2 part, and the whole thing started to work. Logins work now too.

    Thanks for your help guys. This is now solved. The Htaccess file in the root was the problem. I have it set to 301 all from https:// to https://www..

    I turned it off and then I got in and changed the urls to https://www. as opposed to the standard https://sitename anmd then I put the htacess back in place.

    Put a post up earlier today with a few links , later on I could not access my site or admin, I cant link to my website and a 404 google error comes up ive tried all day without any success
