• The Alibi theme is very functional, but what you see is what you get. Don’t bother asking the designer any questions, like, for example, how wide can images be? Heaven forbid you actually need the answer to something more complicated than that. The designer just deletes questions like that from the so-called comments section of their design blog without so much as a how-do-you-do.

Which does make me wonder, do they actually want people to use their themes? They certainly don’t give that impression.

I’m still using it for now, but actively seeking something with the same functionality and more flexibility, and a designer who actually cares enough about his or her product to either write an FAQ or answer questions.

It’s a pity. A lot of wasted potential here.

  • For crying out loud – you have to do some study on your own when working with themes. You don’t need the designer to answer these questions for you.

Open the styles.css file and see what the dimensions of the various columns are – that will tell you what the maximum wide of anything you want to insert therein will be.

If a column – say #middlecontent – is shown as 600px in width, common sense will tell you you cannot insert a picture or anything else WIDER than 600px.

Do a little study before criticizing someone who is supplying you with a FREE theme.
