2 Questions for a Newbie

    First, loving the plugin. It’s well-designed, and made sense even for a novice like me.

    I have two questions:

    1) Where do I actually set the placeholder image for a particular gift (donation)?

    2) This one is much trickier for me, but I’ve been reading documentation for two hours, and I cannot find a simple way to change https://mikemallorymaui.com/donations/ to a different slug, such as https://mikemallorymaui.com/gifts/

    Hey @madamski – I’m glad you’re liking the plugin! We try to make it both easy for beginners and advanced users alike.

    To answer your questions:

    1. You would set the placeholder within each donation form by customizing the “Featured Image”. It’s typically a metabox located in the right sidebar on the single donation form pages.

    2. What you need to do is add this to your wp-config.php file:

    define('GIVE_FORMS_SLUG', 'gifts');

    3. I think you want to reorder the donation levels? If so, you can drag-and-drop them within the donation form edit screen. If I misunderstood, let me know.

    Also be sure you refresh your permalinks after #2 so that you see the new URL. You can do that by going to Settings > Permalinks and clicking Update.

    Note: You can also create a new page called “Gifts” and embed any donation form on that via shortcode. That’s also a possibility.

    Thank you! There are now just a couple of other issues I’m trying to iron out:

    1) On the donations page: https://mikemallorymaui.com/donations/
    I was able to add the featured image (can’t believe I missed that), and while I love how it looks once you click on the actual item itself, I’d rather just have my smaller image that is in my custom table below (with the text). Is it possible to hide this featured image on the /donations page only?

    2) How do I change the title of the donations page so that the url/slug(?) reads “registry” and the page title itself just says “Registry” as well.

    Ok, I was able to solve everything aside from one thing:

    I ended up creating my own page and linked to the different donation/gift pages. I name this page “Registry” and that’s what appears on top of the page when I preview, but as soon as I actually publish this page, the name on the top of the page is showing: Archives: Donation Forms and the window/tab within Firefox is called “Donation Forms.”

    HOW is this happening?! I created my own new page, and I feel like it’s possessed ??

    Hey @madamski – it sounds like that’s being controlled by your theme. There’s a plugin to control the archive titles here: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/custom-archive-titles/ although your theme may have a specific setting for it.
