• Dear World-Press Team,

i need to submit my theme to the Directory. The zip file is 17,4 MB.
Safari stops uploading after 10% while Firefox tells me that the file is too large even though 25 MB would be allowed. Do you know why?
As for the other option to upload via FTP server, i am not sure how to do so.

    Best regards,
    Nina

I moved this to Everything else WordPress as your question has nothing to do with Installing WordPress.

17 MB is *way too big* for a theme. What’s in it that is causing this kind of size?

Generally the WordPress themes are light, this means that in your theme you are using some code that is very heavy. Try to compress some codes such as CSS.

It is not convenient to leave the template with this size since WordPress is a bit strict in terms of sizes and sometimes some internet connection problems can produce errors when uploading the file.

Generally nobody uses the subjects that weigh so much, since they consume many resources and slow down the website.

    I hope I helped a little!
