Single Post on Index Page, Separate Page for all Posts

Hello everyone!

I have been using WordPress for a while now, but I have come across something that is driving me nuts. What I want to do is be able to have a single post from a single category displayed on my custom index page. I was able to do this by modifying the Loop with query_posts(“cat=x”). So that works fine.

What i want to do now is have a separate page for all the rest of the posts for my viewers look through and click on to read more. I have tried creating a page titled “blog.php” in my Template Directory, but WordPress can’t link to it.

I am sorry if this has been posted before, but i couldn’t seem to find the answer here!

Any help is greatly appreciated!
