• While I know about the plugin “Different Menus in Different Pages”, I have read some reviews that its coding can interfere with your theme so I hesitate to use it.

I am working on a website where a blog is nested in a WordPress website – on the same database. The blog and its pages / posts needs a different menu from the main website pages / posts. I am trying to find a plugin that will do this.

My link is to the “blog” main page.

If others have used “Different Menus in Different Pages” let me know your thoughts there are only 5 reviews on their plugin. From what I have read you need to purchase the full version to get to work.

The theme being used is MH Magazine

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • I have developed a website where each category had its own menu. The main menu was fixed across the page header, while the category specific sub-menu was in a widget in a sidebar. Though not particularly elegant, I used the category numbers to id the required menu. The menus were created in the functions.php file of the child theme.
A different way this could be achieved is to use the custom page template mechanism, put a variable in the page template that can be picked up say in a sidebar.
