    TablePress is awesome!

Quick question, is there a way to restrict (constrain) table view to specified users? Also, is there a way to make tables editable by basic subscribers?

Any assist on this would be great. Thanks!

    Hi,

thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.

Restricting access is not directly possible with TablePress. For that, you should try finding a plugin that can restrict access to pages (on which the table Shortcode is then placed).

Making tables editable by Subscribers is possible, but this at the same time means that they will get access to the WordPress admin area (although they will not be able to do anything there). I still don’t recommend it, as they would have access to all tables.

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Thanks Tobias!

    Understood.

May I offer this recommendation, expanding your plugin to have a front-facing short code that would enable table editing without having to confuse the viewer by leaving the front-end to go to the back-end side of WP. Either way, it is a great and easy plugin. Thanks!

    Hi,

thanks for the suggestion. This is indeed something that is often asked for. Unfortunately, I have to disappoint you here. I do not have plans to add something like this, as I foresee to many issues, regarding security, etc.

    Regards,
    Tobias
