My page text is not appearing when I click EDIT.

I have logged into my admin. I click on PAGES. I select HOME and click on EDIT as all i want to do is fix a typo at the very bottom, GET IN TOUC to GET IN TOUCH.
It’s been months since I have logged in and no idea how the H has disappeared but regardless, I have no idea what to do. The only text that appears after I select EDIT for the HOME page is:

Welcome to your site! This is your home page, which is what most visitors will see when they come to your site for the first time.

But if I preview/view the page, I can see my actual page. So the question is why is the text not appearing when I click EDIT and how can I fix it?
