I am setting up a website for a small business. I have created pages for the different services we offer. I would like to link to these pages as if they were portfolio posts using the portfolio grid template. So the overall “Services” page would link to each service page using a hover overlay on featured images. Is this possible with the Ascend theme? I don’t want to make the pages into portfolio posts because then the URL will fall under /portfolio/ and I can’t get the same functionality with my galleries.

Hey,

One solution that may work for you is to use this plugin:
https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-gallery-custom-links/

With this, you can configure a gallery where every image links to your pages.

Using a gallery is a great idea, thanks! I also want to duplicate this Services page as the home page. Do you know if it is possible to do that with Ascend?

Sorry for the delay! I missed your response. You should be able to replicate that on your homepage by going into the page content, and adding the gallery there.

Then, after you’ve set up the page content, go to Theme Options> Home Layout, and be sure that “Page Content” is enabled.

I see the option for Page Content under Home Page Layout, but there is only a module for latest blog posts.

That only applies to latest posts. You should actually go edit the home page directly through pages> edit home page.
