• Hi. When I write a paragraph and press enter, WordPress automatically adds the br code.I do not want to use the br tag. Because I formatted the p tag. I want to have a paragraph when I press the enter key. What do I need to do for a permanent solution?

When I write a paragraph and press enter

The default behavior is to make a <p>.

This may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins, and use one of the default (Twenty*) themes. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of your troubles.

If you can install plugins, install “Health Check”: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/health-check/ On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to disable all plugins and change the theme for you, while you’re still logged in, without affecting normal visitors to your site.

When I type in the Visual Editor with a default setup (Default theme, no plugins) and then hit enter, the only time I find a <br> is when I also hit shift + enter or backspace at an EOL.

Perhaps a very specific review of what is being typed each time is in order?

If this was a WordPress Core issue, very many would be posting the same.

Please also know that double space is no longer required as on screen the extra space is not required…
