When generating an invoice, it returns fatal error.
I already tried creating the 2018 folder manually as suggested in other threads but it did work for my install.

I have also enabled the mPDF debugging and it is returning this error:
Error message detected – PDF file generation aborted.
display_zero_rated_vat is verouderd sinds versie WooCommerce PDF Invoices v2.8, zonder beschikbaar alternatief.

I have the same issue on multiple sites. Checked the log as you did and then created 2018 folder with the correct RW permissions. That fixed it.
It’s a pain and I hope that the development team can fix this in the future release.

Had the same problem.
Clicking “Create invoice” button in order detail page generated HTTP Error 500.

I know most people got it back to working by creating a folder “2018” manually via FTP/SSH on the hosting server.
You need to create this one in:
/yourwebfolder/wp-content/uploads/bewpi-invoices/ -> /2018

You can always try that first and check if that fixes the problem.

I have created the folder 2018 in /wp-content/uploads/woocommerce-pdf-invoices/attachments/ and it work now!
