    For the last 1 week, I have been getting the email log errors as follows

    [12-Jan-2018 06:35:33] /home/south/public_html/XXX.com/wp-content/plugins/backwpup/inc/class-destination-dropbox.php: Dropbox API: (7) Failed to connect to content.dropboxapi.com port 443: Connection timed out
    [12-Jan-2018 06:35:36] ERROR: Step aborted: too many attempts!
    [12-Jan-2018 06:35:36] One old log deleted
    [12-Jan-2018 06:35:36] ERROR: Job has ended with errors in 1116 seconds. You must resolve the errors for correct execution.

    Nothing has changed on the server. I checked out dropbox, and backup file is saved there but I am still getting these errors. I have resaved the backup job, disabled and enabled the plugin and still getting the error.

    Please let me know how to resolve this.

    Yes, I had checked that post before I posted here ??

    I am running the latest wp 4.91 and BackWPup Version 3.4.4 so not sure what else is the problem

    i have emailed my host to see if they are blocking any ports.

    Update from hosting provider

    “The server prepped everything to be sent, sent the authentication, and drop box would not respond. I would try seeing if drop box can check for a failed connection so that we can help see what happened but from that log there is an issue with them allow the connection.”

    any suggestions to resolve this.. thanks

    I believe this error is related to your hosting provider not because of BackWPUp problem.
    So I would suggest you contact your host and then tell them again or try another backup destination like FTP or Amazon S3.

    Problem with port 443 for plugin updates is not solved!

    Download mislukt. cURL error 35: OpenSSL SSL_connect: SSL_ERROR_SYSCALL in connection to downloads.www.ads-software.com:443 .

    This problem is related to your host, please contact your hosting provider and ask them why you got the problem with CURL: OpenSSL SSL_connect: SSL_ERROR_SYSCALL in connection to downloads.www.ads-software.com:443
