• I want to automatically put a menu on every post (Contact Form requesting DMCA Takedown, Contact Form requesting change of category or tag, etc.).

Any ideas on a plug-in that will do this? Searching for this led me to all kinds of links to add posts to menus, but not menus to posts!

    Thanks very much,

    John

  • This is a common behavior of most WordPress themes, so I don’t know if I understand what you are asking.

An additional menu? Something in the sidebar? Is this conditional? Show just in post not pages?

“Usually” If you build a menu in the Appearance > Menu area, the menus have options of where you want it on the site. This varies by theme.

Please, can you give more details and provide a link to your site or the Name of the theme you are using?

Thanks @kim. I’m a WordPress newbie so I don’t know what can be done or not…

I am using the Videoblog theme (https://www.ads-software.com/themes/videoblog/).

Sounds like I should contact the theme designer…

    Thanks again,

    John

I installed the theme on the demo site I built.
There is a sidebar… and you can basically add anything you want to it.

If you look in the customizer and edit the “Main Sidebar” widget. There are many types of widgets you can place for custom HTML,

There are plugins (and included in Jetpack) that can let you choose “visibility” of your widgets like you to want it to show up on some pages but not your post etc…
    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/widget-visibility-without-jetpack/

Menus are set up in the Appearance > Menu area… There is a checkmark to have it be on the top of the page…

Secondary puts it in the top right corner.

Usually, theme writers do have setup information for their themes so yes, contacting them may help you too.

    Thanks @kimwhite, very much appreciated!

Theme documentation is really sparse – see https://www.ilovewp.com/documentation/videoblog/ – it’s mostly specs and a changelog!

I’ll review your reply above and see if I can figure it out!

    Thanks again,

    John
