Is there a way to whitelist an internal webcrawler via Shibboleth SSO?
-
First off, thank you all for helping in advance and if it sounds like I don’t know what I’m talking about here, it’s because I don’t. I inherited the management of a WP site for my company with no experience and no graceful hand-off (seems pretty typical around here). Anyways, my issue is this:
My website uses shibboleth to authenticate via our internal sso system. Another group in our company manages a web crawler on our intranet. The web crawler can’t index our site because of the SSO (and apparently can’t get authentication). So, my question is this… Can I whitelist this crawler with its intranet static IP or by other means without loosing the security of shibboleth and SSO for everyone else? I have not been able to locate an example of this on the internet so I’m here. Thanks!
