    Hi there,

I’ve installed the plugin, subscribed for a yearly plan and compressed all my +/- 700 images. But when I compress the images again with the online TinyPNG tool (https://tinypng.com/) I still get -40% of the size of the image. So now i’ve downloaded the /upload/ folder, and compressed the images with the online tool which appears to be even better than the plugin.

Has it something to do with the server tools available where the website is located or could it be something else?

    Thanks for the response.

    Cheers,
    Justin

    Hi Justin!

The reason that you are seeing a difference in compression comparing the API to the web interface is because they use different cores. We do try to keep them as similar as possible, but sometimes you will see a difference.

The thing is do, you will always be able to compress the images again and see a decrease in size. This is because TinyPNG uses lossy compression and every time you, for example, use the web interface to compress the image it will get smaller and smaller (with a loss in quality every time).

I hope this has answered your question! Let me know otherwise.
