• I know this has to do with .htaccess, but I’m hoping that someone can point me in the right direction as to what I need to put in the .htaccess file.

I’m using WordPress 2.7.1 (although this issue has been around since I started using WordPress at 2.6) on 5 different blogs all using MediaTemple.net’s webservers.

2 Blogs are on one dedicated virtual service, 3 are on the grid service.

The three blogs on the grid service are not redirecting permalinks that are changed or edited once published. In otherwords, if I originally publish a post (or page) with a URL as https://www.example.com/2009/2/15/this-is-the-post then change it to https://www.example.com/2009/2/15/this-is-the-renamed-post – when someone enters the first url (https://www.example.com/2009/2/15/this_is_the_post) a 404 error appears, instead of automatically redirecting to the newly renamed post.

The two blogs that are located on the dedicated virtual service are not having any issues – so I’m pretty sure its something to do with .htaccess.

    Any suggestions?
