• Dear all
Another question regarding defaults: I realized that when creating a new gallery, there are about 54 meta fields which are copied from the default settings (e.g. tile options). Wouldn’t it make more sense to introduce a flag which says use specific options and don’t add those meta fields by default?
I see following use case which can lead to problems:
Let’s imagine you have several 100 galleries and decide to change you default options. You now have to reset the options of all already existing galleries – which even removes your gallery description.

That idea did not occur to the author of MaxGalleria when he was developing it. But he did an outstanding job of creating the architecture of the MaxGalleria platform through which we are able to continue adding new layouts. I do not think we will be rewriting the core settings/options functionality any time soon, but your point is a lesson the other plugins developers can follow.

    Hi Alan

Thanks a lot for your response. Yes, I totally agree that the architecture of MaxGalleria is very nice. I actually really like to work with it.

I solved the issue by adding corresponding functionality as add-on.

    Best regards
