Is there a way that I could clone one widget but without syncing across all linked clones?

This is helpful because I want to preserve most of the settings used (and there are lots of them ?? but still having an individual widget.

    Thank you!

  • Hey @dianne92,

    Hope you’re well.

Unfortunately, there is no way to unlink cloned widgets for the current version of Custom Sidebars. But I like the idea, I will share this with the team but I can’t give any promise about will it be added as the feature or not.

Yes, this would be a great addon indeed.
An alternative would be the ability to save the custom widget’s settings in a file, similar to the import/export feature currently included. This way I could just import the previously saved settings for my custom widget.

Right now, I’m writing down the settings that I need to change and go through all of them when creating a new widget. I’m doing this for each post page that needs a custom widget.

Either way, great plugin – keep up the good work!

Hope you are doing well today!

Thank you for your suggestion, hopefully, our developers will add it as a new feature to our plugin. I’ve marked this ticket as resolved for now, but if you need anything else at all, we’re here for you, please just reopen the ticket or create a new one.

Have a good day and take care!
