• Hi. I updated my website to WP 4.9.4 and it crashed. I deleted it and restored a backup, but when that updated to WP 4.9.4 it crashed again. I sought help from my hosting company, who discovered that WP Super Cache caused the problem with WP 4.9.4. They deactivated it on my website and it is now working. I have deactivated it on all other websites that I have it installed on prior to updating WordPress. Please advise.

  • I have the exact same issue. When I activate WP Supercache with 4.9.4, I get an 500 error. When I disable it, everything is back to normal. Please help!!!

Do you have compression enabled in the plugin? Disable that. Maybe some other server-side compression setting was changed at the time of the WordPress upgrade.

Hi. Yes, disabling compression did fix the issue. Thanks for your help!

On a sidenote, it was working before last WP update. Not sure if there is something you can fix to make it work..
