• hi there, there seem to be lots of mentions of problems with the ajax ‘response’ box with newer versions of WP and CF7. i’m getting this too (when i submit a form the (initially hidden) response message box doesn’t get filled in and displayed as it used to.) i have been unable to fix this.
can the plug-in developer acknowledge this issue (IS it an issue with the REST API or jquery for instance that i’ve seen mentioned), and is a fix in progress? or is there a workaround? i’ve seen snippets of code to fire an ‘alert’ box instead but it would be good to get a step-by-step guide on this for the less programmatically inclined!

this issue is a bit of a showstopper at the moment.
    thanks

Try switching to the default theme and deactivating all other plugins.

have seen this reply a few times now – but i think we need more than this – i’m using a pretty up-to-date theme which previously worked ok, have simply upgraded wordpress and CF7 which between them seem to have thrown up this response box visibility issue. yes it could be pushed back to ‘the theme’ (and i have written the the theme developer about this) but there are enough forum messages here about this issue to make it in CF7’s interest to investigate/solve or at least provide some concrete pointers for admins/theme devs etc.

at the moment i’ve got legacy builds that need fixes for this issue one way or another, but after years of using CF7 i’m going to be looking elsewhere for new setups unless this gets fixed pretty quickly.
