    Hey, I’m new to wordpress and just set up my first blog.

    I took a template similar to what I was looking for and reconfigured it to my needs. However, I’m having a hard time figuring out how to place a header image at the top.

    As you can see, I only have the text title, but I’d like to place a clickable image there. I’d like the image to be the same width as the main content section, as well.

    Here is the code for my Header.php. If more code is required, just tell me where to look and what to post.

    Anyone? Anyone?

    I did try doing a search on this, but most of the instructions seem to be for older wordpress releases, as my code doesn’t look like the example code given.

    If it helps, I used this theme as my starting template:

    1). Give your new Header image a name such as Header.jpg, Header.gif, Header1.jpg, Header1.gif, etc.

    2). Upload your header image to the folder where your images are located > pistolsatnoonish.com >blog >Themes > Your Theme > Images

    3). Go to your WB dashboard menu, find the “Appearance” tab and click on the “Editor” look for the Stylesheet (style.css)

    4). Copy and paste the Stylesheet (style.css) file into an Editor or notepad before making any changes. That way if you royally screw it up and can’t figure out what you did, you can simply grab your previous version and paste it back and you’re restored! Next…

    5). Scroll down until you locate this:

    background:url(images/logo.jpg) no-repeat;
    height:100%;

    The file may have a different name such as: header.gif, logo.gif, etc.

    6). Replace the logo.jpg image with image you just uploaded.

    7). Click the “Update File” Button and you’re done!

    Thanks, Crewchief, but I’m still having an issue. I see where the logo is in the style sheet, but I had to manually enter the code you suggested, as it didn’t already exist. That part worked fine. However, there are two issues I still need to resolve.

    1. How do I make the banner a clickable link?

    2. How do I get rid of the “pistolsatnoonish” text?

    Oh, to make it clickable, just change the <div id=”header”> to <div id=”hedaer” onclick=”location.href='<?php bloginfo(‘home’) ?>'”>

    To remove the text, use the text-indent property for Header 1:

    p/s: Please don’t paste the whole style sheet next time. Just the relevant sections will do.
