The Redirect 404 To Homepage description says PHP 7.0 or higher, yet the plugin itself uses “a call-time pass-by-reference” which has been “deprecated since PHP 5.3 and prohibited since PHP 5.4”.

Can you speak to this concern? I used a PHP compatibility plugin to check before changing PHP versions and this was the only plugin I use that gave an error.

this is a local redirect link that contains the affiliate that should be forwarded to the affiliate product page, but links automatically to the homepage

I noticed that the when the Redirect 404 To Homepage plugin was activated the BuddyPress Group pages i.e. https://www.woollahrasailingclub.org.au/groups/weta-sailors/ were redirecting the the home page. I have now deactivated the Redirect 404 To Homepage plugin and the page loads with no issues.

Since installing Redirect 404 to Homepage plugin, my testsite (localhost/XAMPP) doesn’t load. I get this message:

“The page isn’t redirecting properly

Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies.”

It would be great if I could actually track the 404s that are being redirected to the homepage by this plugin. Any way to do that at this point? Thanks!
