Hello,
The WordPress dashboard reported one critical issue: “Autoloaded options could affect performance.”
I installed the ‘AAA Option Optimizer’ plugin, accessed the options (without making any changes), and the website immediately broke with a 500 error.
I contacted hosting support, who fixed the issue, and then I deleted the plugin.
Could you please explain what might have caused this issue? I’d appreciate any insights into what could have triggered this problem.
Thanks in advance.
]]>What happens if I delete the plugin? Will the autoloads I removed in the plugin remain deactivated/removed or will they return to their default state?
]]>AAA informs that I have 810 options, for 261.2KB of memory, not so bad as you could see.
But WP Status check keeps me warning about Autoload critical error that my site has 883 autoloaded options (size: 834 KB) in the options table, which could cause my site to be slow.
As it could be seen this shouldn’t happen.
Is that any tables that are not monitored by AAA? Or something like that?
I did a lot of searches about such issue but couldn’t find anything like that.
My tables are all InnoDB by the way.
]]>Hi, I am interested to know what the significance is of removing Autoload.
Will they not load at all with Autoload deselected or will they just load later if needed ?
]]>Looks great, especially as the other tool I know of that does that is paid. But when one has 1500+ options that need clean and tidying up it can become very time-consuming to do so one by one. Is it in the roadmap to add bulk processing soon?
]]>Using the Troubleshoot plugin, I was able to identify that Ahrefs SEO plugin 0.10.2 causes a conflict where all the sorting options in AAA are removed.
This is the proper view with Ahrefs plugin disabled.
This is what it looks like with Ahrefs plugin activated.
Hi,
Thanks for great plugin.
I can’t sort data based on size etc.
]]>Hey Hey,
On WordPress 6.5.2 and PHP version 8.2.18 there is a bug in the plugin, can’t click on anything and the data overlaps the content.
Maybe you could consider creating a feature to automatically go through each post and page to find all unused auto-loaded values.
It could queue up jobs using Action-Scheduler to manage the workload and not overload the site.
Maybe even create a WP-CLI command to run an automatic cleanup.
]]>Can i send you ( and how) names of known plugins to be added in your known-plugins.json ?
]]>Hello @joostdevalk, hope I am finding you well. I am using AAA OO in tandem with Jordy Meow’s Database Cleaner, both plugins play nice together UNLESS someone does what I’ve done without thinking… The short version of why I need to reset AAA OO …. Jordy’s plugin also has the functionality, like AAA OO to “Show Value” (in a popup), here is where the “without thinking” part comes in, in trying to figure out which options I can/should delete or otherwise, over the last few days, I have been jumping over to Jordy’s plugin and also “Showing the value” in his plugin, so of course now your plugin has all of those many actions registered and I’ve lost my place.
What I believe the remedy is, but want to check with you first:
Deactivate/Delete AAA OO then use Meow Database to Delete “option_optimizer” then reinstall/reactivate AAA OO and start over?
Does that sound right? Thanks for taking the time with me here. Appreciate
]]>Hi Joost!
I’ve just updated the plugin to version 1.0.1 and did a check on my own site for large unused autoloaded options. I noticed some of a plugin I don’t use anymore, so I wanted to delete them. Pressing the “Delete option” button does nothing.
There are no errors in the browser log.
Thanks,
Jos
Most option values are non-minified and a reasonable size, but this one from Spectra is autoloading a whopping 249.55KB: ast-block-templates-spectra-common-styles
Because of the size it shifts the disable/delete buttons completely to the right(far out of the viewport).
Good Idea this Plugin, but on a multiside i try to remove autoload on plugins what i know, they does not exist anymore, but nothing happen, same on Delete Option. Not multisite compatible?
And, i mean properly me only have difficult times to read/understand.
“You can either decide to remove an unused option (they might for instance be for plugins you no longer use), or to set it to not autoload.”
would it not me more clear?
You can either decide to use the [Delete Option] for unused plugins (they might for instance be for plugins you no longer use), or to set it to [Remove Autoload].
Good Day
]]>Hi Joost,
Great idea!
If you’re in for a suggestion: I would really like the possibility to sort the options by a column, specifically the ‘size’ column, as that would allow me to show which options are the largest in memory. These are the “low hanging fruit” after all.
Something else I noticed: the link “Requested Options That Do Not Exist” does not seem to do anything. Possibly because there are no such options in my case. I think if that happens, it’s better to remove the link entirely, to prevent confusion.
Lastly: I have the same issue as the previous ticket: for very large values, the screen expands and options disappear from view.
Thanks for creating this.
]]>Hello Dev, hope I am finding you well. I understand the plugin is brand new, just wanted to report an obstacle I am finding in the user interface.
In my case at least, when printout of a “Value” is extremely long, your “Remove / Delete Buttons” run ten miles off screen, causing decision making a near impossibility. The following are 2 screenshots that may better explain what I’m running into: Thanks for taking the time with me here. Respectfully.
