Now that the widget is not supported any longer, what are the alternatives?
The widget only says it won’t be supported after July 1, 2016, and the suggestions it makes are… adding to the email signature? To the Twitter bio? Uh… sure, why not, but I still want it to appear on my blog…?

I installed the widget “about me” , but I want to use it as a page not in the side of the page… anyone can help me , please?

The about.me plugin places a style block above the div, and causes this message for an html5 validator:
Element style not allowed as child of element div in this context.
The site I’m trying to validate is deepinthecode.com.
The code causing the problem is below:

?
#am_thumbnail a {?
text-decoration: none;?
border: none;?
}?
#am_thumbnail img {?
text-decoration: none;?
border: 1px solid #999;?
max-width: 99%;?
}?
#am_name {?
margin-top: 5px;?
margin-bottom: 3px;?
}?
#am_headline {?
margin-bottom: 5px;?
}?
#am_bio {?
margin-bottom: 15px;?
}?
#am_bio p {?
margin-bottom: 5px;?

#am_bio p:last-child {?
margin-bottom: 0px;?

#am_services {?
margin-right: -5px;?

#am_services a.am_service_icon {?

I installed this Plug in and I wrote stuff about me inside it. When I went to edit it, I can’t find out where you go in order to change the wording inside. I tried to delete it and it still appears on my blog. How do you delete this plug in completely. It is too difficult to use.
so I pop this widget on my blog and , , ,
None of my beautiful spacing or paragraphs, italics or lists show up with the code.
:(((
Its looks a bit amateur.
Am I expecting too much?.
Am I suppose to add that somewhere in the CSS?
Is it on this end or the about.me end? I know these folks have their issues with chrome. Do I need to do it all over and save it on Explorer?
Hi, with the latest version of wp this plugin doesn’t work as I can see…do you confirm it? I tried with my website and is not working…
When there will be a new release?
Thanks and regards,

i just updated my About.Me bio so I could make a change to my bio on my blog homepage. I made the change on the About.Me website with no problem, but the change does not show up on my blog. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Please test with 3.8, its broken.
it is showing a box of customizing about me widget.
this is not like actual aboutme widget.
Multi-author support would really be nice. I just can’t use this plugin because we have multiple authors working on different articles. And the shortcode (that’s in beta testing) doesn’t work at all.
So for each article individually the widget could look at who wrote it and then put their about.me respectively.
First, setting up the widget only links to about.me page, it does not pull in background image, any bio information or ‘apps’ social media buttons and links.
So the end result is that this plugin does not do what it shows. It appears to be both broken and the recent update does not match the screenshots of what it use to do.
Hi!
The widget is broken for me.
I get the following error on the Widget page of my blog (inside the chrome javascript console)
Uncaught ReferenceError: tinymce is not defined widgets.php:326
tinyMCEPreInit___i__.load_ext widgets.php:326
(anonymous function)
This relates to a script that is generated in plugins/about-me-widget/aboutme.php on line 148
I even found a sollution, but it’s been a long day…
Maybe the devs can look into this?

How do I remove it?
Thanks.

I just installed the app and I am currently working on my site but when I entered the about.me info it made all my apps appear vertical instead of horizontal.
How do I fix this? This URL will show you what I am referring too.

After updating the UppSite plugin, I noticed my About.Me profile was no longer displaying on my website. I cleared the cache, tried a different browser, deleted the UppSite plugin, reinstalled the About.Me plugin but am still receiving the same widget error message:
“We encountered an error while communicating with the about.me server. Please try again later.”
Inserting the widget produces a blank, nothing. You only see a title “About me” but nothing shows up.
Hi Support
Hoping you can help.
I have noticed that when I update the bio on my personalised About.Me page, and the details are shown as having SAVED, the updates are not being displayed by the WP widget on my site.
I have tried F5 and ctl-F5 in-browser, but the old details remain. Removing & then re-adding the widget does not seem to help either.
How long should it take for the updates to show ? Is there a method to force the widget to pull in the latest details ?
Thanks, and keep up the good work. ??
Hello,
I see that several people get this error, incluiding myself.
What should we do and which is the origin of the problem?
Thanks in advance,
— Gabriel
1. Shortcode functionality (as posted previously)
2. Ability to list & customise 20+ ‘About.Me’ profiles on a single page (eg: staff list). This way, staff can easily update their own info, and share as much or as little as they wish. So plugin will need a main title, and the ability to sort order.
3. Widget photo – option to pull in the “Bio Photo” rather than the image used for the full screen background.
4. More customisation, eg: for choice of colors & fonts displayed in the widget.
Thanks. ??
