I successfully used this a couple of years ago and wanted to use it again.

It is not sending out emails. I have combed the support forums for help and it is no where to be had. Very disappointed.

Thank you for making such a simple, effective plugin for this widespread need!Wish I had installed it months ago instead of insisting that I would get the .htaccess file working. I simply wanted to hide a duplicate of my site that I was using for testing purposes. Your plugin worked perfectly.

If you need to lock down a site for private view, this plugin does the job very well, it adds a good few functions to change so that you can set varying levels of lock down and user vetting.

This plugin has help up through many WP upgrades and consistently does just what it should. It took me a little while to figure out some of the instructions, but that’s my inexperience talking, not the plugin, which is actually quite easy to use and understand. A great way to control spam and keep an eye on who’s using my site.

This plugin makes creating a private (eg family only) site very easy. The only thing is doesn’t do is hide content from the upload directory.

Plug-in is great for private hosted wordpress sites. Able to select member-only or complete lock-down; options for privacy. give this plug-in a go. Works for me!

This was exactly what I was looking for, in order to create a private site, accessible only to family and relatives.
There is only one significant problem I encountered – my site is still in development, on my local machine, therefore the home URL is https://localhost:<port number>/wordpress.
After I installed the plugin, whenever I log in (does not matter if I log in as admin or subscriber), the port number from the URL is removed (it becomes https://localhost/wordpress, and I get an error page instead of the site Home page.
Then, when I add the port number back to the URL, the home page is displayed and I am logged in correctly.
It would be nice if this could be fixed soon.
