Using it for years now, very happy! You add dark theme and close tab confirmation and you could charge for this plugin!

This plugin should come pre-installed in any WordPress ??

Dear Readers,
Save button doesn’t always work.
Take Care, With Love Through God and Jesus and The Holy Ghost,

This is the first plugin I install on any project. It does exactly what I need, with just enough gatekeeping to make sure I don’t mess up a site with a misplaced semicolon!
In particular it’s an invaluable plugin for anyone trying to bend third-party themes into shape or working with child themes.
Props to the team ??

absolutely wonderful app. That’s all I can say.

Made it much easier editing theme\plugin files from the admin panel!
Also gives me access to files that the built-in editor won’t, thanks!!

Thank you sooooo much for this! It’s like having notepad++ (Windows), Brackets (Mac) either UltraEdit capabilities all within WordPress. Including an excellent filemanager. Installed it on ALL my projects. Looking forward to a commercial version / donationware; as it’s worth to spend some money on.

This is a great plugin! You can edit your WordPress PHP files with a Sublime Text-like editor and create, delete, and move files and folders.

Extremely useful. I keep it disabled when not using it on my sites, but it’s wildly superior to the built-in wordpress editor for appearance/plugins (and more).

I generally work on directly on the site, using this plugin. So whenever I start, first install this plugin.
Very helpfull.
Thanks

Just started using this recently and its awesome!
Am still learning the art of web dev and I try to avoid cowboy coding as much as possible, but when in a pinch I could just fire this up and view the file clearly and edit it cleanly rather than the built-in editor
and clearly this must not go near the clients or non-admins

This should be in WordPress core.

Hello shanept,
Great package, man, made me laught :).
A few notes:
– It should be only available for admin users.
– The fact that the left side panel reduces as default is rather annoying. (It could be an option, but not necessary, as it’s one click away)
– As an option: change root to current theme
– There is a display bug on the ‘find’ lightbox, i can’t see completely the 4th bottom check box. It might be because I’m at 125% display, but i don’t have problems with any other things.
– Opening folders is rather slow.
– Progressbar for .Zipping of content
– Monokai as default ??
Best regards,
Johan

Thanks for keeping the wpide project going. This plugin saves me so much time. I no longer have to go searching for ftp user/pass info for all my clients.
]]>Rating: 5 stars
It covers the gap between default editor & ftp.
Don’t have to use FTP when this is handy

Brilliant. The developers of this plug-in deserve lots of praise.
THANK YOU.

Better than the default code editor and any other plugin i tried so far.
My spontaneous thought on first test was “This is amazing!”.

Nice fork!
Its great to see new life brought into this plugin. I love that you managed to bring the file size down from 40MB to 11MB (unzipped), I use WPide on all of my sites so it almost doubled the size of my sites, AceIDE is awesome and it’s my new go to.

Yes, I’ve been looking for something like this. Seems to fit the bill perfectly and so good to see Ace is actively supporting and updating the plugin. Thank you!!

The initial WPide project didn’t get any update in one year,
did you try contribute on their GitHub ?
Anyway thanks for taking care of this project !
