Hello,
Your plugin appears to be abandoned and if you don’t have any plans on maintaining it, I’d love to do so as this is a plugin I use regularly with my own sites as well as my clients’ sites.
I currently maintain my own plugins in the WordPress repo in addition to many private ones uniquely created for clients. I work both full-time as a professional programmer and as a freelance programmer.
Hope to hear from you. Thanks!
]]>Hi Ankit,
will you post an update to keep the plugin alive?
Cheers
Yogie
I use Add Categories to Pages, it is an excellent plugin.
Do you have plans to update it? I guess I’m asking if it is secure with the current version of WP (5.6.2). Is your plugin safe to use?
I sure like it.
Joe
]]>Does this add the category to the permalink structure like it would if it were a post instead?
I’m using the /%category%/%postname%/ custom structure in the permalink settings.
]]>Hello,
I would like to ask you if there will be any update for when this plugin will be completes for release to work with the latest version of wordpress.
The last update is 5 months ago.
Also, i would like to ask if this plugin is compatible with wpml.
Thank you in advance.
]]>1yr 4months ago I was part of this forum: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/v-1-1-breaks-category-post-widget/
My problem is that the homepage consists of a grid 2×3 linking to those pages categorised as benefits. If I update the plugin then the page is simply blank.
I thought I’d check up on any progress and then came across this: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/category-list-page-is-empty/
In this forum it is suggested that: “The plugin was modified in version 1.1 so that it was essentially turned off for the admin user. That is to say, if an admin user is logged in and visits the normal site, then pages will not show up in categories. I don’t know exactly why this change was made – the change log says it was because the plugin broke other plugins.
You have two choices if you want pages to show up in categories. 1) get the older 1.0 version of the plugin, or 2) log out of the admin user when you look at your site”
So I thought I’d give that a go. But I am still having the same problem. I mean I can just keep using v1.0 as it works fine but just wondering if the plugin developer is planning to fix the the problem or not?

Hi,
I use a plugin called “Breadcrumb” by Pickplugins.
For the pages, the category don’t display on breadcrumb but for the posts, we see the category.
I was thinking see the displaying of category.

]]>Hi,
I’m curious as to what has been updated from v1.1 -> v1.2.
I like to see the changelog of exactly what has been updated before updating the plugin, to help deter against potential plugin/theme conflicts.
Thank you very much for your hard work making this plugin!
]]>Hello a.ankit,
Just wondering if you have a “coming soon” date for when this plug-in will be completed for release to work with WP 5.1.
It appears this plug-in will meet my needs. FYI I’ve researched other plug-ins for adding categories and tags to pages and haven’t found any that are up-to-date. If you know of any others that accomplish that would you mind sharing that information?
Thank you!
]]>Hello,
I am using “Post Tags and Categories for Pages,” but it no longer seems to be supported.
I was happy to find your plugin.
If I install your plugin and deactivate Post Tags and Categories for Pages, will I loose all my previous categories assigned to pages? Or, will all my categories assigned to pages be intact (with same category id#s, etc.)
Thanks for any clarification.
]]>My host is upgrading to PHP version 7.2. Is your plugin compatible with PHP 7.2? If not, how soon will it be?
]]>I just installed the latest version of this plugin. Then I created a “testxxx” category and then added that category to my “about us” page. So far, so good – the plug in does allow me to add categories to pages.
But when I display this category page: https://www.cryptocurrencycomplete.com/topics/testxxx/ it says:
CATEGORY: TESTXXX
SORRY, NO POSTS FOUND
I am using the last version of wordpress before Guttenberg. I also am using the Divi Extra theme and I have a child theme of Extra. Is it possible that the plugin changed the Extra theme, but not the child which is what is really the theme of my website?
Thanks
It seems like with the latest WP Update 5.0.2, your plugin stopped working.
Can you help?
I used your plugin to show all my “event pages” on an event calendar (I gave categories to each page). Now it only shows 2 of the 28 events that we have. These 2 events are saved on my WP as “blog posts”. All other 26 events that are saved as “pages” are not shown.
]]>Hi! Thanks for the plugin. But there are no hyperlinks to the pages in the category. Is it possible to fix this? Thanks
]]>I am in the process of moving my site to a new server and have concerns/questions about this plugin. Do you foresee any issues that may arise? Has anyone in this community had real issues that you may could warn me about? Will I need to re-add everything manually, or will it remain intact in the database?
Thanks in advance,
Tracy
Does this add the category to the permalink structure like it would if it were a post instead?
I’m using the /%category%/%postname%/ custom structure in the permalink settings.
]]>Hi there,
I can confirm that the latest update of this great Plugin breaks things that where previously working.
I use the Plugin together with the “Category Posts Widget” and so far everything was working just great, but with the new ver. 1.1 it breaks the Categories and nothing show’s up. I get the following error in the Consol :wp-content/plugins/category-posts/cat-posts.css?ver=4.9.8 404 (Not Found)
If I downgrade to ver. 1.0 everything works as expected.
Hope this helps you in fixing this great Plugin.
Best Wishes
/Thomas
Hi, after update my slider does not work anymore. There used to be some pages under the “slider/landing page” category, but not anymore. What can I do? I can’t even rollback to the older plug in version that worked just fine. Please can you put the older one into the system so that I can downgrade? I use Sparkling theme from Colorlib.
]]>See https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/exclude-pages-only-include-posts/
Using this plugin makes it impossible to use WP_Query to get a list of only posts (excluding pages), i.e., when a category filter is added to WP_Query, this plugin seems to insert “page” into the post_type even when the caller specifically restricted it to just this:
[post_type] => Array
(
[0] => post
)
Summary: If this plugin is used, all other plugins and PHP code that uses WP_Query to search for both a specific category and specific post_type (such as “post”) will break since this plugin will change that to “post,page” and then the display will contain both pages and posts instead of just posts.
]]>Hi,
Wordfence keeps warning me that this plugin hasn’t been updated since January 17, 2015. Is this plugin dead? It still works from what I can tell.
Thanks.
]]>When using this plugin, it is near impossible to read the Title column of the Pages section in the Dashboard. The problem seems to be that the CSS of the Pages table doesn’t account for the new columns that this plugin adds
]]>How I can display all categories associated with the specific page. I have updated the categories and tags in the page using this plugin and now I need to display all of them in the specific page itself. Can you please advise on the same?
]]>Hi,
I noticed in the description that this plugin “Lets you display List of Pages based on Categories”. Is that based solely on the built-in WordPress categories at the base of the menu? If not, how can I tell a given page to create a list of links to all the pages in X category?
For example, on my site conplete.com , there is a page called Comic Cons. I’d like there to be an automatically-generated list of hyperlinks on that page to every page in the “Comic Cons” category. Is there a way to do that with this plugin, or do I need to keep searching?
]]>After decided to uninstall the plugin, why it keeps showing up on the right side of editor?
]]>Dear author,
I have the opposite problem than some of these other complainers. I actually wanted and expected posts and pages being mixed up in the “related” section. But now the posts that are under blog category, and also in the same category than the pages, won’t show up either way in the related section. That blog post won’t come under the pages and the pages won’t appear under the post as I was expecting.
I use the Jetpack related content code for enabling that function for pages too which I found somewhere. Is this code now exclusively only for pages and therefore the blogging is ignored?
function marce_allow_pages_for_relatedposts( $enabled )
{
if ( is_page() ) {
$enabled = true;
}
return $enabled;
}
add_filter( ‘jetpack_relatedposts_filter_enabled_for_request’, ‘marce_allow_pages_for_relatedposts’ );
-kind regards
]]>Hi.
I’m trying to display a list of other pages that belong to the same category as the current page, but the code that usually works for WordPress posts don’t seem to work on pages.
Does anyone have any clue on how to achieve that?
Thanks.
At first this looked very useful as I can set up categoes to help organize pages. However, there is an unwanted side-effect in that the categories you really want to only be attributed to pages will also get listed in a blog sidebar category listing. Clicking the category will return a mixed up, combined list of both blog entries and pages. So:
1) You should be able to set up categories for pages only
2) Page categories should not show up in a blog category list
I checked the other category plugin, Post Tags and Categories for Pages, and it seems to work the same way unfortunately.
There are no configuration options that allow you to control it better.
]]>Hi,
I’m not sure how this plugin is meant to work, but I’m going to say it’s not working in WP 4.4, because the Post editing screen doesn’t have any new controls or anything after installing this plugin.
Can anybody point me in the right direction?
Is there a screenshot of how the Post editing screen is meant to look after this plugin is installed?
Thanks ??
]]>Such as those created by a custom post type plugin, testimonials, wikis, and documents?
]]>I like your plugin!
I am using it only for backend management of my pages. I don’t want categories to become visible to the viewer. in the intro to the plugin you say you can hide categories. is that possible with your plugin or do you need an additional plugin.
thanks
