I was searching for a way to support the If Modified Since HTTP header and eventually found this nice little plugin. It works just fine. What a shame that it is being abandoned since there aren’t really any other good alternatives I have seen, though I suspect it will continue to work effectively for quite a long time even without any updates.

Works as expected, without any fuss and is very lightweight.
Thanks also for the very informative Wiki!

I did all the curl testing and it does what it says on the tin. It also solve some obscure Google/SEO compliance issues, but to understand this you really have to know how HTTP protocol works.

We are always looking for new possibilities to enhance our news portal [Link redacted] A lot of plugins don’t work unfortunately, but “Add Headers” is working smoothly and it’s helping to improve Google PageSpeed analysis Thanks a lot.

I think this is a great SEO find, it seems to be the only plugin accurately adding the last-modified header to the pages as detailed in the new webmaster guidelines. Remember, you cannot see the http header unless you use a tool for viewing http headers (just google it). Check out my site in the tool, you’ll see the last modified and the etag – [Link redacted]
