Hi,
Great plugin! I have been using this plugin for years without any issues.
I will be making an upgrade to PHP 8.0 soon and was wondering if there will be a version of this plugin that will be compatible with PHP 8.0? Version 4.2.6 breaks my website when I try it with PHP 8.0.
]]>Hi, wondering if this plugin will do what I’m looking for…Primarily looking for a simple way for readers to “follow” my blog and receive notifications of new posts/content. Would also like to collect their email addresses if possible. Does this plugin allow for this functionality? If not, what is the best alternative?
Thanks!
]]>Hi there, you deleted my 1 star review and asked that I open a support request instead.
Here is my review:
why is it so hard to find a simple social media plugin that isn’t harvesting you and your users data?
I just want links and pretty buttons.
This privacy policy is linked from within the plugin once you set it up… or save yourself the time and read it here: https://www.oracle.com/legal/privacy/addthis-privacy-policy.html
I’m not sure if there are better options out there… maybe other plugins are doing the same thing, but don’t even have the courtesy to notify you.

My review was not a support request, just pointing out to other users that when they use your plugin they are signing up to have their data and the data of their site visitors sold.
Do not lock or remove my support request, and please restore my review.
Now here is my support request:
If you’re worried about unfair criticism, why not address the terms of the privacy policy.
For example, it says that,
You have privacy rights for the information we process about you. You can choose to opt-out of third party sharing or selling and object to our use of your personal information, delete your personal information, or access your personal information.
If that is fully true, I’m assuming there is a setting somewhere in the plugin that allows users to turn off all data sharing?
Can I use the plugin and opt out of having Oracle collect, share and sell data from my site?

How long does it take for analytics to be calculated after you add the code to your page?
Also should the activated buttons be the same on your wordpress dashboard and your addthis.com dashboard?
My addthis.com dashboard only shows one out of all the tools I have activated.

I activated the floating follow buttons.
I added the code to the page as well.

]]>Hi.
can you add https://wikidiy.org/ support to your plugin?
Hi
Great plugin, thank you!
My website is RTL and so its content is aligned to the right (the side bar is on the left)
I want to use the floating buttons but they appear on the right and may interfere with the content.
Is it somehow possible to move them to the left ?
I’ve tried looking through the CSS but didn’t find where I can do that.
Thanks again !

]]>Hi,
Just discovered this and it’s great as you are one of very few I’ve found that have icons for music sites (soundcloud and mixcloud) out the box. However, my issue, very similar to the previous topic about Floating/sticky follow buttons, is that I need them to be either floating or sticky in the left hand side bar, but my theme has no sidebar! So very frustrating. Are there any customisation options to achieve this with your plugin, or can you recommend a partner you may work with that does? Thanks.

I’m looking for floating follow buttons. There seem to be share buttons in abundance, but I haven’t been able to find any floating follow buttons. Thoughts?

Much of the code is repeated, but you should get the picture. Doesn’t appear to be any ‘showstoppers’ in there but thought I would let the developers know about it.

I’ve noticed a reduction in errors since upgrading. However we still receive the below notice. I haven’t been able to track down the cause. We use the horizontal buttons.

The plugins installs and appears in the sidebar, however clicking on it leads to a blank page.
Any ideas?
]]>My site is PTSDexams.com
I scoured the AddThis.com website, including the Academy, using both the search engine and browsing different topics, and watching videos. But I could not find anything that walks through troubleshooting steps when Follow Buttons does not work.
I tried Follow Header, Horizontal Follow Buttons, Vertical Follow Buttons, in combination and individually.
I made sure my settings under Settings > AddThis > Follow Buttons were correct, after watching the video and reading the instructions. And I also checked them via the online Dashboard at AddThis.com
On the Dashboard, under Follows, I received this message:
“We have no data for visits. Try another date range or make sure you have code on page.”
On that page, titled, AddThis for WordPress, it states:
Install the AddThis Website Tools Plugin
[ADDTHIS WEBSITE TOOL PLUGIN]
Note: If you are using AddThis Sharing Tools plugin, consider switching to our Share Buttons by AddThis Plugin.
I found those instructions to be confusing, since I was not using the Sharing Tools plugin, just the Follow Buttons plugin. But I assumed I should download the Website Tool Plugin, which I think is right, although there was not any explanation in this regard. (I did install it.)
Further down on that page, it states:
Code for Activated Tools (optional)
You’ll need to add this additional code within the body of your page to fully activate your inline tools. Simply copy and paste the code below to the places on your page where you want the tools to appear.
There is no explanation for the term, inline tools. Is that the same as the plugin? Or is it something different?
Underneath the code, it states:
Note: This code is only necessary to place this tool in a custom position not available in settings.
So I did not install that code.
In my WordPress admin, under Settings > AddThis > Advanced Settings > Loading Options I have Script Location set to Footer, which is the recommended setting.
Under Settings > AddThis > Advanced Settings > Loading Options > Excerpt Filters, I tried unchecking each of the following, individually and collectively:
but none of those differences helped.
Under Settings > AddThis > Advanced Settings > Loading Options >,
I kept Add XML Namespaces for valid XHTML checked, which is the recommended setting.
From my WordPress admin under Appearance > Widgets, I added Follow Buttons-Horizontal to my footer, and Follow Buttons-Vertical as a right-side sidebar widget.
I tested my site with one or the other of those two widgets and with both, but that did not make a difference.
The Titles for those two widgets show on my site, but that’s it.
I noticed the AddThis Script widget, which states: “If your theme is not adding the AddThis script (addthis_widget.js) onto your pages, try adding this widget.” So, I tested my site with that widget added and without. It did not help.
I tested on the following browsers, all updated to latest stable versions:

The settings page fails to load when DISALLOW_FILE_MODS is defined as true in wp-config.php.
DISALLOW_FILE_MODS is commonly set on production servers to limit direct file modification, but also affects the result of the call to current_user_can('install_plugins')
, effectively making configuration of the plugin impossible on the live website. Is there a more appropriate capability that could be checked?
Hi,
I got a reply in my mailbox to a closed thread which i can’t reopen just now and i need to get in touch with this member.
But.. a reply to the email gives me a noreply address @wordpress.org and the profile on www.ads-software.com doesn’t give me a link to her email or anything.
How can i do this???
Thank you in advance.
Kind regards,
Niels
Can we have an option to exclude these from output? They are not valid HTML5. I do not care about XHTML, especially when I’m not serving text/xml
.
How do you add an add this button that goes to an instagram feed? Having trouble with this. If you could please help that would be great. Thank you.
