]]>Hi,
I have the plugin ‘Admin Block Country’ installed for a while and i’m very happy with it. But starting today this plugins makes my backend extremely slow.
Deactivating the plugin, the backend is react as normal (+/-2 sec). When the plugin is active is takes are 62 seconds.
What is causing this delay since today?
Regards,
Roland
Hi!
Could your please test plugin with WP5.5. Thanks!
Hi,
Your plugin is great but have small problem with server configurations.
You must explain to people that they need a GeoIP module in PHP enabled for this plugin to work.
I would also suggest if you can made support for the CF Geo Plugin that users of the CF Geo Plugin can use your plugin as an add-on.
If you need help with integration, feel free to contact me.
Thanks!
]]>This is a great plugin, but we don’t need to access the plugin configuration page every day. This is a plugin that is configured and forgotten.
It would be interesting if the plugin menu item becomes a child of the Settings menu.
Thanks! ??
Strict Standards: Non-static method ABCTomM8::get_current_url() should not be called statically
One security principle is to set what you want to allow, then block everything else.
Is better to choose which countries to allow to login, and block the other ones automatically.
]]>This plugin is supposed to block access to the admin pages (and I assume the login page)
but using https://www.webpagetest.org I can still see the page.
Is this plugin still supported? If not, please advise so we can move on to another option. Thank you!

Cannot upload the dat file. File to large.
]]>Installed the plugin. Set to all countries, so only USA can login. Still get message from WORDFENCE that someone tires to login from Russian Federation every day.. is this still supported or do I need another plugin?
]]>The upload of the dat file fails every time. Can I ftp it? What would the destination directory and filename be?
]]>Just thought you should know: on Sept. 22 our site wpgarage.com stopped allowing Googlebot to crawl the site and the number of crawl errors registered in Webmaster Tools grew every day. The robots.txt was fine, and we couldn’t find any other cause for this. Strangely, when I entered the site into https://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com/ it said the site was down, even though we could see the site!
I finally found the culprit: this plugin. I deactivated it and now the site is crawlable by Google. I don’t know why your plugin was blocking Google, but I thought you should know.
]]>Not blocking China.
]]>I’m not finding out much information from the plugin itself. It tells me how to download and and how to update the geolitecity.dat. After upload I can see geolitecity.dat in uploads. What I cannot tell is if the plugin has registered the upload or if the geolitecity.dat upload needs to stay in the upload folder.
Now that a database is part of the plugin operation I’d like to suggest having an htaccess only option. If no offsite server is to be queried, this would work great and offload a lot of overhead on the local server.
Suggestion 2: A defined whitelist option for a single or groups of IP blocks. This would avoid lockouts due to database or server lookup errors. It would also help the people whose country lookup doesn’t match up with their IP where the plugin was failing to properly refuse to block the current country.
]]>Find that the “who.is IP to Country service – https://who.is” service is not working properly. For example I have it set that only the US/UK/Canada. But if I use the default “who.is” service it doesnt block
Singapore,Australia and Brazil..
But if I use Geoplugin it is seems to do the job. Didnt Try the others
]]>Hi,
Just wanted to let you know that your plugin was the main culprit of admin backend slow across a number of websites using different plugins and themes.
Once I deactivated the plugin, the backend was loading very quickly.
Let me know if you have any questions.
]]>Hi,
I’ve been using this plugin for a while now and before the 5.x upgrade, it was working beautifully. However, since that upgrade people are still being able to get through.
I’ve blocked every country except X country and I’m still getting people who are able to access the admin page to try to access the backend.
I’ve taken the IP address shown in Wordfence and tried on each of the services and it shows up as a blocked country. Why is this?
Thanks.
]]>Hi!
I just installed the plugin, because I was getting login attemps from other countries.
In the options page I selected all the countries (excluding mine, that appeared on the list) and selected the second option for ip location (can’t recall the name right now).
Suddently I got blocked from my system, I can’t login anymore and I can’t find the way to revert the changes.
I strongly need help to recover access to my site and find a way to make this brilliant-idea plugin to work.
I’m from Spain but my page is hosted in UK, can that be a problem?
Thanks,
Xermán
]]>According to the installation instructions there isn’t really any set up other than to install and set the countries that the user wants blocked. I’ve done that. And I’ve tried the choices for which IP locator to use…..and still not working. Is there more to the installation and setup????
]]>Hello,
I am not yet using your plugin, as I found another one first and am evaluating it at the moment. Reading your change log, I noticed that you’ve moved away from using the freeware GEO database in favour of your own service.
Does this mean your plugin does not load a localized database onto my system and instead does a call to your own database?
If yes, I wonder if you’ve considered a new feature: use a log of the IP address verification requests to build a list of “suspect” IP addresses (i.e. addresses that seem to be probing a large number of client sites). With this information, you could tailor some IP blacklist settings in addition to merely checking for specific countries. Let me know if this is feasible, as it would influence me to use your plugin instead of the other.

]]>Can’t download Tom M8te, plugin is missing.
]]>I have the latest wordperss. After I installed and activated this plugin i block all the countries (yes it shows my country whitelisted). I’m not living in USA. Then I clear web browser cache and data. Then, I use use a VPN (Hotspot Shield) connection and use USA IP. But still I can login to my site admin area and wp-login.php page using that VPN connection.
Why is that? I have Apache+Nginx VPS with cloudflare and wordfence.
]]>Nothing comes up once activated, in order to enter any settings.
]]>Hello:
Wondering how to know what IPs are successfully blocked?
Thanks
]]>I installed Admin Block Country on two of my sites. It’s working but one feature is not.
It says it won’t include my own country but United States is included in the list. I almost “selected all” because I only want to allow US computers on my site. That’s when I noticed United States was included in the list. Luckily, I deselected it.
I’m sure it’s an easy fix for you to include in an update. It’s a great, easy to use plugin, by the way. Perfect for my company.
