I don’t know why this is not a perfect 5 from everyone who tried it. Always works. Easy to setup.

Just perfect to get rid of all the annoying bruteforcers.

Before installing this plugin I received almost 600 attempted hacks in just a few hours. Wordfence blocked them but all these emails were sitting in my inbox.
After installing this plugin I got 22 hack attempts in 12 hours. A lot better to manage.
This can become a very popular plugin. Please continue to support it. I will support your efforts.
Thanks!

It would be great to be able to redirect to a page 404

The reviews here are very old, so I had a look at this plugin myself. I got tired of all these hack attempts, so this seemed like a nice way to keep out most of the trash. It’s very user friendly, after installation you get a list of countries you want to block admin access from, and a “select all” option. Your own country is not on the list so you can’t accidentally block yourself. After that, I could still access the admin section of my site, but when trying from a VM in another country, access was blocked. There was no output, just an empty page, which is fine to me. So, a simple plugin but does exactly what it should. By the way, for some IP addresses the country is not known or incorrect, so no GeoIp application is perfect.

Hi
I have discovered this plugins and I’m testing it in WP Versión 4.7.3.
It looks good. I have used to modify my location “Just Proxy VPN” Chrome extension.

Well, I do not see it working. I have blocked all the countries and I have logged in with the navigator Tor who identified me in Germany (blocked) and has let me access the administration panel without problems

After a serious hack, this will save us from another.

Plugin does not seem to work at all. Wordfence reports several failed logins from many foreign countries even though local IP database is uploaded, backup external IP is set and all foreign countries are blocked.
Wordfence live traffic login and logouts reports messages like this still after activation of Admin Block Country plugin:

Seems to be very good and no slowing down of the sites tested.
Don’t forget to install the datafile first as per the instructions!

I was getting attempted Admin logins from Countries all over the world. Africa, Mexico, Russia, Brazil, Indonesia, Serbia, you name it. Dozens and dozens. About 1 every minute.
Installed the plugin and didn’t notice a difference. Turns out I didn’t set it up properly. At the top of the settings page you have to click on a link to download a file and then upload it. Easy to do, I just missed it at first. As soon as I did this and chose every Country except U.S. and Canada and every login attempt was blocked. Amazing!

I can’t tell that it does anything on the 3 sites I’m trying it out on. I still get constant notifications from Wordfence about attempted admin logins from China and other blocked countries. Will be uninstalling now.

I did block all countries except my. It is working perfect.

I’m using several Security and login attempt monitors – I was getting lots of hits (attacks) from Ukraine, Russia and UAE.
Installed this plugin as well. Instantly noticeable drop in attacks. Excellent.

A very simple plugin that just does what it’s supposed to do.
What more can anyone ask for?

Does not work, used Chinese proxy to access my site.

I had the same problem as azlivin008. Blocked access to entire admin area until I deleted plugin folder via FTP.

When I try to activate the plugin, my site just hangs. I had to go to the host control and completely delete the plugin from the wp-content folder to get my site running again!

This plugin simply does not work. I am still being bombarded with ip’s from China, Romania, & Ukraine.

I was being peppered with failed logins, always from foreign countries. This app blocked them all! 100% successful.
FYI, I use All In One WP Security, which shows me the failed log-ins.
The only caution: When you click “select all” on the country list, it also selects my own country! (although there’s a note saying it won’t select your own country) – apparently there’s a small bug there.

Admin Block Country 1.0 blocked me out of my WP admin page (apparently by changing the ht.acess file). I’m a WP newbie, so I don’t have a clear understanding of the issue, but I had to resolve it through my host server. Although I really like the idea of blocking my site from IPs by country, this plug-in was just a headache. I am using WordPress 3.6, and the plug in does not seem to be compatible with this version.
Update: I received a quick response from the developer, who is very helpful. I suspect my problem was either from plug-in (Better WP Security 3.5.5) or theme (Responsive 1.9.3.5) incompatibilities, as I was able to get access to my admin page after deactivating both of these files via my server, as well as Admin Country Block. Once I was in Admin again, I deleted Admin Block Country, deactivated Better WP Security, cleared my .htacess file, reactivated my Responsive theme, refreshed my permalinks and everything was back to normal.

I installed Wordfence Security and I couldn’t believe how many people from overseas were trying to access my wp-admin directory. Once I built this plugin, they stopped coming. Pretty simple, everyone should install this plugin and Wordfence Security.

A great plugin that works as advertised! Good thing that the plugin dont let you block your own country by mistake. Great work.
