I have read the previous thread where you state that storing previous versions is a waste of space. I want to point out and prove that this is not true.
At Angry Creative, we use composer and wpackagist to manage our client’s plugins. We are not alone in this, it has been a very common practise amongst modern WordPress agencies for years and many well-known names such as 10up, Humanmade etc. does the same.
The reason for this is that it allows us to easily update plugins across all our clients’ sites, while also keeping track of version changes and potential conflicts. This is especially important when working with larger, more complex websites, where updates must be done in a controlled manner and all version changes must be tested to minimise the risk of errors. This also provides a layer of security as we can easily roll back to a previous version in case of any issues and we can validate checksums and easily restore hacked plugin codebases. Additionally it allows us to keep track of changes in the plugins we use, which is important for maintenance and troubleshooting.
However, the way this plugin provides only the latest version on www.ads-software.com and subsequently wpackagist.org severely clashes with this workflow. It invalidates the composer files whenever a new version is released and forces constant updates since each time, the older version is no longer available.
I want to stress that if previous versions keep being removed, the plugin runs a high risk of alienating all agencies and their customers that is relying on wpackagist, or similar version control systems.
Hopefully this information provides enough evidence to show that storing older versions to some extent on www.ads-software.com is not a waste of space, but rather a necessity for many modern WordPress agencies, and I’m happy to provide additional information or answer any questions that you might have from the above.
I look forward to your response!

We use this plugin on several sites but something a little odd is happening on one of them and I wondered if you’d seen it before.
The menu item above pages in our site is Gravity Forms. When I view Forms, a broken looking version of the tree menu is showing. It is essentially the menu that would appear if I hovered on pages minus some CSS by the looks of it.
There are some hover interactions but it’s not a usable version of the tree menu and the content is definitely still pages. It doesn’t matter if I hover on forms or navigate to another screen of that section.
Has this happened to anyone else?
]]>I tried this plugin on my staging site and saw nothing appear in the Admin Menu when activated. I then turned off all plugins except this one and switched on the 2023 default theme, and I still can’t see anything in the Admin Menu. Very strange. According to your screenshots, I should see a top-level menu item called AMTPV. Correct?
Any ideas?
]]>… really sorry.
but in fact when i saw the new version and was kind of shocked.
the one and only reason i ever used this (as the only) admin plugin was the fact one could go the shortest possible way to edit a page.
adding cpts is great. but the other changes completely defeats the purpose for me. hacky or not – old way or none.
tree page in separate view is not ever faster than accessing ‘all’ pages and cpts per default way. i dont get behind this change.
the plugin simply is useless now.
… didnt want to post this as a review as it might not be fair.
but it had to be written down somewhere.
sorry.
I understand your stated reasons for taking away the flyout, but – frankly -you’re wrong.
What you’re doing now should be a different plugin. What I wanted was the flyout, that was the whole point.
I understood the weaknesses, and how it didn’t integrate with other admin plugins – I chose to use yours instead of theirs for the flyout. Taking it away removes the point of the plugin entirely.
Thanks for your time on this over the years.
]]>Where is the old version. I’d like my pages to show under the pages sub menu as they did. Is that functionality gone? so far I don’t like what i see and am ready to remove the plugin. Please tell me I am just missing an easy setting and the simple functionality is not gone?
]]>I’m here because I’d like to ask for Posts & possibly Custom Post Types. It’s been requested before (but the thread is closed).
Impressive plugin! Great functionality. Let’s include Posts as well, at the very least please.
Thank you.
Please, would You kindly offer also previous versions. As one of the many users of ClassicPress (based on WP 4.9x) I can only get them via updated WP site + Rollback plugin. There is no way to download new version in CP as the latest version of Admin Menu Tree Page View does not support CP (or WP 4.9x).
As of user of WP for years, I have never seen any comparable alternative to Admin Menu Tree Page View. Maybe not the best, but it is unique in functionality.
I have been using this plugin for many years on dozens of websites. It’s an absolut must-have for me, and this functionality should become part of WP core in my opinion.
But: Re-ordering pages via drag-and-drop is very unreliable. Somethimes the new order is stored, sometimes it’s not, and sometimes only partially. It’s not specific to a certain WP version or plugin combination, it’s just a general flaw.
Can we do something about this?
]]>Hi, i use this plugin sincey years on several sites.
Just only which, it would work with Custom Post Types too.
Dragging a page to a different order position just gets stuck, and upon page change or reload it’s back to where it was.
]]>Hi! Love this plugin, it has been one of my mainstays for years! I have a new site on WP5.7 and am getting this error when I try to add a page using the little “add after” function of your plugin:
Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'nonce' of undefined

at HTMLUListElement.v.handle (load-scripts.php?c=0&load[chunk_0]=jquery-core,jquery-migrate,utils,jquery-ui-core,jquery-ui-mouse,jquery-ui-sortable,moxiejs,plupload,jquery-ui-tooltip&ver=5.7:2)
It’s a brand new site still being built so not much going on other than Beaver Builder is installed (which I know is fine, no conflicts with your plugin) and WP 5.7. I’m assuming this is a WP5.7 JS issue since it’s breaking lots of other plugins. Thought you should know!
]]>Thank you for taking over this plugin! I use it on all of my clients’ sites and really appreciate you keeping it going.
I just updated to v2.7.3 and WP 5.7, and at first thought the +/- accordion trigger was broken, but then discovered it’s now just a really small and specific clickable area. It’s pretty hard to accurately click on the +/- icon now. It’d be great if this could be updated for a more user-friendly experience.
Thanks again!
]]>I’m getting the message:
“This plugin hasn’t been tested with the latest 3 major releases of WordPress. It may no longer be maintained or supported and may have compatibility issues when used with more recent versions of WordPress.”
from WordPress. Can this plugin be tested with the latest release please?
Thanks!
]]>It seem that the development is not very active here but I’ll still put my entry here too.
Indeed the posts and CPT support would be a must! as asked before.
Here I would add a simple thing is to sort Pages. by name. This could even more improve the searching speed. As I like to prefix page names it makes it pretty easy to find the right one.
Thanks already for this helpful plugin and hope you’ll add a few options as asked by the time.
Regards.
I was browsing this directory today to look at plugins that my team regularly uses and noticed that this plugin has a very high vulnerability score:
[ redundant link removed ]
100 is the highest possible and may be due to the high amount of DB queries performed.
Is this something that can be looked into for future updates? I’m afraid the convenience of this plugin does not outweigh any security risk, so I’d really love to see it updated. Thanks!
]]>Hi, thanks for great plugin!
How to show only published pages in tree view (hide private and draft pages)?
Or please add option in UI to set this.
]]>I would like to contact plugin’s author but I can’t find an email address to do so.
]]>Hi,
When reordering pages with “Admin Menu Tree Page View”, this plugin can mess up the “Email notifications” of all the forms of the Formidable plugin, in my case 35 forms in one website. Either the forms lose the notifications/form actions or receive form actions from other forms. So, a very serious bug/conflict…
Now I’ve deactivated this plugin on all my installs…
Thanks for taking notice,
Chris
This plugin conflicts with the formidable forms plugin. Causes actions in formidable to shift to different forms. Just curious to see if there’s a way to fix this.
]]>I activated this plugin specifically to be able to change my page order. Unless I am doing something wrong, this plugin is not working for this purpose. I have dragged and dropped the page order in the admin menu (as the plugin advertises), but it does not change the page order. In fact, when I log back in, the pages in the Admin menu are in a different order than I put them. But that doesn’t actually change the page order either.
]]>I ask this because the plugin was updated 2 months ago, but in the last 2 support issues, one of which is older than 2 months, the dev indicated he is no longer developing the plugin.
Maybe someone new has taken over?
]]>Hi there,
I used to looove this plugin and used it for many projects. Now it interferes with the proper functioning of the back end. I think it may be a plugin conflict that makes the WP back end suuuper slow when I activate the plugin.
Is there any update coming soon?
I would be willing to help make this plugin even better. I am not a php programmer but I have good knowledge about CSS and interface design in general. I could also donate a bit more than I just did.
It would actually be great if this could just be a floating window instead of being integrated into the admin menu. When using this for bigger sites with a complex page structure, it get more and more tight in the admin menu and there is a lot o scrolling needed when the page tree shows up.
In my opinion a modal windows with something like your CMS Tree Page View would be most suitable AND I believe thousands of people would love this – even wanna pay for something like that.
There is – to my knowledge – nothing out there that works like this.
Warm regards from Bali
Sebastian
Hi there — is this plugin no longer under development? I use it on every new site we create, have for years, but I notice lately that some pages will not appear in the list. I fear there might be some incompatibility with recent versions of WordPress.
Thanks so much for all your hard work! It makes a huge difference for me.
]]>Hi, why your plugin not work with WordPress scheme colors? Because now it is possible change a:link color ??
you can remove all lines with “color: #21759B;”
Thx

Issue
I use Admin Menu Tree Page View on all my sites. I just installed Gravity Forms on a site and when I try to use Gravity Forms, the Admin Menu Tree stays visible but is all over the screen. Gravity Forms seems to work properly, but I can’t see it all to be sure.
I can find where this was a problem with older versions of Admin Menu Tree Page View and Gravity Forms, but I can’t find anything recent. I just upgraded to the latest version of WordPress. I’m using Version 2.6.9 of Admin Menu Tree Page View and Version 1.9.15.14 of Gravity Forms.
I’ve had to turn off Admin Menu Tree Page View in order to work with Gravity Forms. I cannot find a plugin that truly replaces yours, so I hope you can fix it.
I am including a link to a screenshot to show you what I mean. It’s in the admin area, so if you need a login, let me know.
Thanks,
Julie

]]>Any chance of having it work for CPT and posts?
https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/admin-menu-tree-page-view/
]]>Good morning,
I love the plugin. It’s a great solution for sites with many pages. My clients seem to appreciate it.
My situation requires that I have complete control over elements within admin. The menu of pages output by your plugin should be accessible, but certain pages unlisted. Hiding the li.nestedSortable on a per-page basis isn’t possible so I needed to find a work-around.
I don’t like editing core plugin files, but in this case I don’t have another option interim. So I thought I would suggest adding this solution to assign classes unique to the page ID for CSS.
Here’s my suggested edit of the index.php on line 233 file to append the page ID within the class.
Original: $output .= "<li class='$class''data-post-id='".$one_page->ID."'>";
Edit: $output .= "<li class='$class css-".$one_page->ID."''data-post-id='".$one_page->ID."'>";
Very simple solution and now menu page links have unique classes for CSS. ??
Perhaps consider this in the next update, if any?

]]>I have this plugin installed on pretty much every site I use, but I discovered on one of them, the dashboard looks funky (no longer full width) and the tree page view is unusable. I uninstalled each plugin one by one to see if there was a conflict, but the only way to get it back to normal is to disable Admin Menu Tree Page View. One difference is that this site has Jetpack installed and none of my other sites do. But disabling it didn’t help. I’m not sure what else to do other than not use Admin Menu Tree Page View.
