This is really helpful. You can make shortcuts to setting page of each plugin, specific post, external link, anything you want.
If you are disgusted with many left menus, you should install it.
solve problems with one click.

I used this to add a dropdown of pages in the admin bar. It is good — simple and easy to use. It could be improved two ways:
* add an option to always show the admin bar, even in “fullscreen” mode (I found another plugin to do this, for now)
* add an option for a menu to output the admin edit links, rather than the front-end links (I had to use custom links which isn’t as easy to maintain)

Hi, I must congratulate you for identifying this problem and putting this together. Simple and easy… perhaps you could build on it an make it more intuitive, like a drop down it is now, with all current admin items dynamically updates as they grow, so we would not need to go to the dashboard ever again… just a suggestion, but very helpful, a fresh breath of air

Being able to add shortcuts (menu items) to the dropdown admin menus is a huge blessing when using custom post types. Saves clicks!

Exactly what I was looking for. I’d give you 6 stars if you could add a very bottom footer menu position! (aka admin bar style). Well done

Works as advertised and does so without a new learning curve or cluttering the admin.

I was looking for a way to add links to the backend of wordpress. I looked for plugins that would do it and they were waaay down the left side and pretty inconvenient to get to. Then I wanted to find a way to add a link in the admin bar and I found this plugin. At first when I installed it I didn’t think it worked… until I clicked Appearance->Menus and saw the three new locations. Genius! Now I have menu options for ADMINS only, because visitors don’t actually log in. I’m so happy to have this now because the admins don’t want to have to bookmark links to all the special functions they need, and now they just access a menu I set up for them! Thank you! My search for a solution is over!

Tried getting something like this at wpmudev.org where I have a membership but this is easier & does exactly what I need. No settings you just use the menu editor in admin like you would for any other menu.
thanks!

Does what it advertises. Simply. Efficiently. I added a top level menu to the toolbar next to main area so I could jump directly to my MainWP Dashboard. Perrrrfect.

Agreed that it’s very powerful and easy to use. I’m thrilled to have this plugin as it simplifies things enormously.
Only thing is that there aren’t any admin menu links available to choose from, just the standard front-end menu items, so creating a back-end menu using the custom links option can be somewhat tedious.

It’s amazing how much difference small things can make. I think even a big difference, if it only applies twice a year, isn’t that big. By contrast, something small, if you use it many times a day, is huge. Like the friction from 1 grain of sand. It’s small, but it really adds up.
Markdown is that way for me. It’s not that different from HTML. Yet it makes every post every day easier and faster, and that’s huge.
And that’s exactly where Admin Toolbar Menus fits in my workflow. Having to go to the dashboard before every backend visit is a pain. And the default menu choices on the frontend don’t fit my use. WP gives you a frontend menu for Themes, where I never go, but not for Plugins, where I go a lot.
Admin Toolbar Menus lets me have a straight path to Posts or Pages or Users, whatever I do a lot of on a given site. It’s small, but enormously valuable!
Thank you so much!!

This saved me hours of customization! What a happy idea was to create this pluguin.
What about if I update a wordpress 3.8.3 installation to the latest version using this pluguin? Are you aware of breaches of incompatibility? Afraid …. here is a very active e-commerce!
My problems aside, thanks for sharing!

This makes adding menus to the admin toolbar super easy!
I have had to code a number of toolbar menus for clients in the past, now I can just use the WordPress menus, a simple drag and drop ??
