]]>Hi there,
we’re experiencing problems with custom capabilities in a multisite network. We’ve created a custom role and are trying to give capabilities for another plugin (https://de.www.ads-software.com/plugins/quiz-master-next/) to this role – capabilities with qsm
.
What we did:
1. Grant the capabilities for the custom role in the aam settings of the primary blog of the multisite. –> Settings are saved and stay that way.
2. Grant the capabilities for the custom role in the aam settings of a subsite. –> settings are saved and stay that way.
3. Grant the capabilities to all users with that role in the subsite (because the caps are not inherited). –> Settings are saved but seem to get reset continously.
My understanding is that steps 2 and 3 shouldn’t even be necessary because we have aam set up to sync all settings from the primary blog to all subsites of the multisite. However, the setting are reset on the user level…
Can you please advise how to keep the settings permanently saved?
Thanks!
Hi there,
I am trying to have a user which can see orders but can’t edit them.
Is it possible?
Trying to check the?AAM Support page as requested in the pinned message, I get an ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT. Has this page moved?
Best regards
Uli
]]>Hello guys and thank you for this amazing plugin.
I user Shoptimizer theme on my Woocommerce site. Shoptimizer comes with a plugin called Commercekit. The menu items Commercekit has are not compatible with AAM. I cannot restrict individual sub menu items. I can only restrict Commercekit as a plugin but not individual submenus.
Is it possible to make AAM compatible with Commercekit please. I can provide a copy of the plugin. Could you please have a look?
Thank you in advance.

In the newer versions, the menu items are only access restricted, but not hidden. So the editor has a lots of menus that cannot access, but visible. Why did you remove the “hide menu” option?

I set the rules as always, but in this site other admins can’t access to woocommerce’s data analytics and IDKW.
If I deactivate AAM the admins return able to access this data.
Could you help me to understand better the issue?

Hi,
In the members area of my website some pdf urls have been picked up by Google. I need to protect pdfs in my members area to be accessed only by logged in users – will your free plug in enable this or do I have to purchase the premium version of your excellent plugin please ?
Thank you for the help.

I have the following situation;
we are hiring a couple of new people to take care of our wordpress website. However, for the time being we want to restrict access to all of the payment plug-ins. Is that something that can be accomplished with AAM ?
Thank you kindly

]]>Hi there,
Is it possible to restrict access (denied) for Visitors to pages like:
/wp-admin/upgrade.php
/wp-admin/maint/repair.php
A client had penetration testing done on the site and they want these back-end pages restricted. I tried adding the rule but it didn’t work, so just wondering if this only works on front-end URLs?
Thanks,

I am getting this “DataTables warning: table id=uri-list – Ajax error. For more information about this error, please see https://datatables.net/tn/7” When opening your plugin to make changes.
How do i fix this? and where?

Hello
I have installed this plugin about 3 times on a test site (I delete the site when it gets too messy and start over) and each time I install it, I get this error message the first time I open the plugin after I activate it:
“DataTables warning: table id=capability-list – Ajax error. For more information about this error, please see https://datatables.net/tn/7”
I am not sure what it means but it seems the functionality of the plugin (that I have seen), has not been affected so far.
Also, every time I clone a role, an error message appears that says “Failed to create new role for the following reason(s)” and does not specify a reason. When I try to clone the same role again with the exact same settings, it then says “Failed to create new role for the following reason(s) Role already exists“
]]>Hi guys, I’ve done this several time and in a lot of websites, but I have a problem with one of them: I can’t hide a menu item! I set the item for hiding, but when i reload the setting page, the item is not blocked ??
The menu item is a taxonomy created with ACF.

]]>Hello,
I have some test users on my test site that have a wordpress default user role, like Author, and they have backend access to wordpress. I want to restrict only a small portion of these Author users’ admin menu options. Rather than creating a whole new role for them just to customise a tiny portion, I cloned the role using a third party plugin. This is so I can change just one element of the clone’s permissions, rather than creating an entire new role and set every capability separately.
Then I used AAM to set the backend menu items for the cloned role. I restricted part of the menu for the cloned role menu.
However when checked by logging in to a test user’s account who has the cloned role, that user still has all the menu items that is visible to the default Author.
Since for now I have only a few users, I tried another method: in AAM’s settings, I used the “user” tab to set the backend menu settings for each individual user that is supposed to have the cloned role. This worked. But this method is tedious since I would have to manually set the menu for each individual user each time one signs up, which is why I thought I could just assign certain users this cloned role, but this method did not work
Could you help? I have wordpress 6.6 and AAM 6.9.35 and it is not a multisite.
Thank you so much for a great plugin.
]]>Hello
After activating AAM, it shows this giant screen telling you you can ask this AI assistant limited questions which is entirely not what I installed this plugin for. Very tempted to just put a 1 star review. It blocks the rest of the wordpress dashboard and renders it entirely useless. You can’t close it and nothing happens when you click on the giant X. See screenshot here: https://prnt.sc/yKIku-j3gpAc
]]>I have attempted to submit a support email for the premium version but have not heard back in over a week.
Issue:
I’m running AAM and the Premium Add-On and the capability settings and metaboxes/widget settings aren’t copying over properly when I’m copying a custom role to create a new custom role. I just updated on my staging to the latest version of both plugins and this is still happening. I tried enabaling the setting for “multiple roles support” per the chatbox suggestion and that didn’t work either. Please advise if this is a known bug and how it can be fixed. I can provide access to my staging website or screenshots if that’s helpful.

Shall I proceed with deleting that row?
or
Shall I edit the above user_status from locked

How can I prevent this in the future? haha
Thanks.
I received a Technical Issue alert email from WordPress’s built-in feature. I reverted to the previous version of AAM and tried again and received another alert. I think this happened during the “update success” screen.
Error message: Uncaught Error: Class “AAM_Framework_Service_RedirectAbstract” not found in ….. LoginRedirectService.php:58
Everything seems to be functioning regardless. And no further alert so far. Is there any concern? Should I revert to previous version and seek support?
Thanks!

Please help me
We have to get the X-frame-options activated on our server for cyberscurity reason, and, as AAM use an iFrame, we must ask our web host to activate and deactivate it whenever we need to update roles.
Is there a way to use it in a new frame or any other solution to use AAM with X-frame-options on?
Thanks!
