I can’t change the aspect ratio or remove the black bars using the URL string. As a result no background video included via YouTube maintains its ratio and the black bars make it even worse. No option to address this in the plugin settings either. Worthless.

This is a nice plugin. Additional to a background selection it allows for parallax effects of various kinds, text overlay in front of the background image and more features.

I’m having some minor issues on my website.
Parallax effect doesn’t work when the speed is 0, like it’s not enabled, instead of “fixed” as expected.
I set the size to cover, and when the speed is negative, the image zooms in unexpectedly.
No responsive function-I used “Conditional Blocks” to achieve this, but it makes the page dynamic and cannot be cached by the caching plugin.

Wow. Thank you so much for building this plugin and making it work with Gutenberg. You saved me so much time from having to build my own solution. I built a resort website with large background videos in a Hero format at the top of each page. Each video is hosted at Vimeo on a private business account. This plugin provides a custom cover block that allows background video, poster image, overlay along with the block being nested so you can add a heading, separator, paragraphs, etc. Thank you!!!!

The only thing to do was add in the js file which to a beginner sounds daunting but it really isn’t.
One FYI to the author – The Javascript you listed in the FAQ works, but it looks kind of janky with the way you put in the code format in the middle and may be confusing to some.
Note to a newby – you have to put in everything.
I’d put it all in the code box.
