Potentially a fantastic addition but unfortunately this does not appear to strip the tags in WP 6.6.1 so still unable to show links in excerpts (unless I’m missing something)

Just not work, I tried other standard themes and it does not work in them either. New WP installation, no other modules or changes.
Please help!

I love this simple but extremely useful plugin. It’s in my list of indispensable plugins I install with new WordPress setups. Thanks a lot.

Solved p tags being stripped from excerpts & control over excerpt length while maintaining theme styling

Плагин позволяет игнорировать удаление тегов функцией Excerpt(), что мне пригодилось для отображения контекстных ссылок.

Fantastic plugin for CJK speakers. Instantly solved the non-English excerpt too long problem.

Unfortunately it’s not working for me, it’s not overriding the excerpt settings from my theme it seems.

Worked first time. No nonsense. Clear and functional.

Nice job. I can do a lot more with this plugin that I initially though I would be able to do. Love the filters. Can you add a text box where we can filter ones that are missing as well?

The plugin, of course, requires knowledge of WordPress. However, it will fully repay for attention to them. Intuitive: the author has provided all the options for applying excerpts.

Exactly what I need, and support (for a question I shouldn’t have needed to ask) was exceptionally quick. Thanks!

The Advanced Excerpt plugin is the best in it’s kind.
I tried a lot of excerpt plugins but this one is the best.
Especially when it comes to retaining the HTML format in the excerpt, then this plugin does the job.
Very useful plugin and easy to use!
Please keep on updating and improving to stay ahead!
Greetings,
Abu Maryam.

Paid-level support for a free plugin? It doesn’t get any better than that. Thank you!

I was looking for a plugin to modify the length of the excerpt, this one does this and many other things, so it is really fantastic!
Thank you to the developers!

Excellent plugin.
Highly customisable.
Easily solves an annoying problem with the Twenty Sixteen theme (which fails to show excerpts in the posts page).
Thank you!

I’ve been trying for a couple years to find a solution to getting tags restored in excerpts. This plugin is very well thought-out and contains all the controls and customizations that I think anyone could want. And it works. I wanted a solution to allow my excerpts to look normal without having to display posts in full and I finally have it now!
I’d give you six stars if I could.

Does exactly what I needed it to – only a few css tweaks were warrented to get my site looking great. Support responsive and provides speedy resolutions – would recommend.

I run a blog with a few different post formats, longreads, answers to readers’ questions, short texts etc. And I want my short posts to appear full, without experts, and I want to set a ‘read more’ manually for my long posts.
So I installed this Plugin and set the Excerpt Length to 500 words, so my short posts will appear fully and for my longreads I’ll add the ‘read more’ block where I want it.
BUT, the problem is if I turn on the ‘remove link if the whole post content shown’ checkbox, it removes not only ‘read more’ link at the end of the short posts, but it removes ‘read more’ link at the posts with ‘read more’ block as well.
And if I turn off this chekbox, then ‘read more’ block works as expected, but there is a ‘read more’ at the end of the posts with whole content shown.
It would be very nice to have this fixed, or at least have an option to turn off this plugin for particular post or particular tag

We wanted to keep the HTML tags in the blog excerpts for links. This plugin did exactly that and has other options. Thank you.

Was using a theme that did not format text in blog, archive or search lists. Rather than editing the templates, this plugin was a good quick fix. Although it has not been updated in 2 years, still seems to work.

Easy to set up and works as advertised.
A note for anyone using a static home page with posts on a “blog page”: It can be confusing when using Advanced Excerpts settings. Unless you leave “home page” deselected on the Advanced Options Page, you won’t get excerpts of your posts. So leave that deselected and you’ll be fine.
Thanks for the plugin. Saves me having to figure out how to code this myself.

good plugin but load your dumb profile photo on the plugin’s settings over https, or, better yet, remove that.

Tested with the latest version of WordPress, worked right out of the box. It even had some control on what HTML tags to accept. This is something that should be built into the core of WP. ??

Works great – the only thing I’m missing is the possibility to position the “read more” link beneath the excerpt in a custom tag (p, div, button, whatever ..) – if I close the excerpt’s “p” tag directly in the input field, the link gets generated twice (one of them empty).
