This Plugin works perfect except for search resulting pages. Initial situation: Example Menu course\searchpage (course is a custom-post-type with separate permalink). So searchpage was a submenu of course. When I click to searchpage, the submenu (with searchpage item) was shown. Now I hit a search, so the URL changes from https://www.example.com/searchpage/ to https://www.examle.com/searchpage/?s=searchterm
You see it’s not a subsite of searchpage, just a parameter.
But now the submenu was empty.
Is there a way to fix this?

The plugin is amazing, and I want to replace the plugin I’ve been using for all of my custom menus with this one. There’s only one problem …
When I use it from its widget, it works fine … better than fine. However I have not been able to make it work from the shortcode [advMenu], which I’ve tried using in a tinymce editor. I couldn’t even get [advMenu title=”Title Name”] to put anything on the screen.
The only shortcode example available doesn’t show enough information … for example, the menu ID in the example is a number, while all of my custom menus are text strings, which also didn’t work.
Could you please give me an example of how to put the following into shortcode:
title=”title name” menu_id=”MenuName” menu_class=”ClassName”
… so that I could at least see what it should look like.
And also, if you could tell me what you think I’m doing wrong because nothing shows up on the screen as a shortcode, while it does when the widget is used. Perhaps I need to use a different editor?

1) Is made up by predefined custom menus in the WP menu-editor so that I can have different menus for different parts of the site
2) Only shows the subpages that is one level under the page (parent page, subpage, etc.) that is viewed/clicked on
3) Shows the subpages by expanding the menu, instead of a vertical dropdown menu, so that it is possible for the students to see where I am on the site all the time in the classroom
Can I use this plugin for that, and if so how ?

]]>I am using this plugin to create a submenu where the parent item is highlighted when one of its child items is active.
But the situation i have now is that when I choose the main menu item, the sidebar showing the submenu is all showing as active. I have tried and failed to find CSS to fix that.
When I go to one of the submenu pages, it works the way I want: the top menu item is highlighted, and the page I am on, but not the others.

I set up the widget to show a menu and it is coming up twice in the widget area on the front end.
I’m using:
Only Strictly related sub-items
Filter: none
Include Parents (checked)
The menu itself works great.
But its showing up twice for some reason….
Any thoughts??
If i edit the widget options, both menus change, so its not a duplicated widget….it just shows twice….

Hi – I am lost on how to fix my menu situation. I am experiencing on many of my pages duplicates of the actual page I am on. I have the show only child pages checked off too so I am not sure why the menu is displaying the page.
So I have a page called Subcommittees and on the side bar its showing that same page twice…..any ideas on how to fix? I can send a screen shot or you can check out this page at:

Where the menu title is long and you have display as dropdown set to on, the widget pokes itself outside of the boundaries of the page, is there any way to fix this?

A suggestion: can you add a field for adding attributes to the menu and its container? For example, in working with frameworks like Zurb Foundation 6, adding attributes to the menu (like “data-sticky”) and the container (like “data-sticky-container”) make the menu stick to the browser or other page elements.
That would be a huge help!

I updated to 0.4 and checked the box for first parent item as title, but the title is always “Home”, and not the parent menu item for that page (e.g. The parent for page “Data” is “Resources”, and even though “Resources” doesn’t have a parent page, the title for the menu on the “Data” page, and all other pages, is “Home”). Is that what it’s supposed to do? I can’t link to my site because it’s in development and password-protected, but let me know if I need to provide other information. Thanks!

experience with this CMS. I have created a few hierarchical pages in my WordPress website. Then I created a hierarchical menu for the site. For example

I created a menu, and I expected the menu to show only the top-level parents, not the whole hierarchy. For example:

D
But the menu is showing the whole tree. I expect to see the submenus only when I select a menu. For example if I select menu D, I expect to see the following:
Back To Main Menu

D1
D2
D3
In order to achieve such requirement, I firstly installed “Custom Menu” and then installed “Advanced Menu Widget”, and I took a lot of time manipulating
all their settings, but no lock. The menus still show the whole tree. I hope I could explain it clearly.
How can I have a hierarchical menu that shows only the children of the selected item, not the children of all items?
I thought this would be the most obviously available feature, because hierarchical menu is made for making the website neat and tidy, not for making it more crowded.
