When viewing appearance->widgets from the Worpress dashboard, nothing is displayed if I have the Advanced Post List plugin activated. Deactivating it corrects the problem. I have Version 0.5.6.2 of the plugin. Please advise.
WordPress 6.6.1 running PHP version: 8.1.28.
]]>Our website has been using Advanced Post List for several years. We are aware it no longer updates and has no been tested for compatibility with our current version of WordPress. This past week, links from our posts have been redirecting improperly.
Before we start rewriting a bazillion posts,
1) has anyone else encountered this?
2) if so, how did you resolve it?
3) is there a plug-in replacement that will seamlessly replace APL?
Thank you.

]]>I wonder if this plugin is still being developped? It says last update three years ago… I use it extensively on my website to fetch various posts Featured Images to create lists. Hopefully the plugin doesn’t break over time with new WP updates.
Meanwhile I wonder if there would be a way to implement a caching system? It would be nice to be able to tell a specific list how long to cache a dynamically pulled list. For instance, I use random fetiching of posts to generate lists from 1500 posts. I’d love to be able to tell it to fetch those only one time per X hours (ie. 24hours).
Anyway to implement this?
How do I display posts on a custom category/archive page using the shortcode. The post list should only show posts that match the category/archive page.
]]>Hi @ekojr,
Thank you for the plugin.
It appears that the plugin is abandoned. Are you still support this plugin, is it safe to relay on it for future updates, fixes?
Thanks

As long as the post is tagged as [FEATURED], I want to exclude them from the list. I’ve tried using required and/or dynamic terms when I select all other tags except for [FEATURED] tag, but neither worked.
Thank you very much in advance.
]]>Hi there!
I have very limited background in coding.
I’m building a website for blog posts, and I would like to use Advanced Post List to create some lists where we can create some customisable layout.
I’ve put my desired layout here .
I’ve been testing it out for almost an entire day. The text areas work just fine, and I was able to get it into 2 columns. However, the column padding between the image and the text doesn’t work like what I have expected.
Also, I encountered an “error code 500” several times when I tried to insert an APL shourcode to my page. It usually works just fine for the first couple of times, but as I make adjustments for several times, it began to show this error code and says something like “your website has some critical issues”.
Here’s the HTML code I’ve been playing around yesterday (which is no longer in use because of the error code):

I can select “scheduled” in the list of “post status” filter (either ANY or PRIVATE (BETA)).

Hi!
I like your plugin very much, but i couldn’t place it in the sidebar OR any widget space.
It works great as content for pages, but I can’t understand, how to place it to sidebar or widget or something like that. Is that possible?
If I choose APL widget, I can only select title and preset name. How could I get the list itself?
When I place shortcode to html-widget, it won’t show.
When I place the “APL widget”, it breaks the website.
kindest regards
Alex
Hello,
I found a bug that I can’t comprehend.
I have a list of posts, with simple div HTML. It works greatly until 55 posts. More than that, it loses the configuration: see image – https://www.dropbox.com/s/q7hhbu1q7779cri/ADL_bug.jpg?dl=0
The post card loses the HTML format, as you can see in the code.
Any idea why it is happening?
Thank you
]]>Hi,
the WP debug log shows many of these (plugin 0.5.6.1, PHP 7.2):

I know it’s nothing serious… Just letting you know.

I am testing the update with a copy of my website.
After the update, all my post list have been deleted.

I didn’t see any message error.
Could you give me a process to update the version ?

Now, I’ve successfully displayed posts list on one of the standard sites(very custom layout, so I used PHP_Function Shortcode). But when I tried to transfer the solution into the Gantry based site, it refused to work.
The work around:
– Gantry got Development mode, so to see the actual error, it needs to be turned on.
– Then the message displays the issue – it expects 2 params (despite the fact that on other site didn’t)
– After giving the first param=post, it loads
So, be aware ??

I tried to pass the param from the APL screen – it passes the string, though when returns it displays correctly, but when in the php mode – it interprets as a string

I’ve downloaded the APL php_function shortcode from your website. Just wondering what I do with it now to be able to output ACF shortcodes via the post list fields.
