If not, witch plugin could do the same, meaning;
I need a Widget to displays thumbnails grabbed randomly from posts. Each thumbnail is hyperlinked to the post it is taken from or optionally hyperlinked to its post’s category.

have just discovered your plugin and it’s mostly doing exactly what I need, thank you.
I’m using a child theme of 2011, and have adapted the css of the homepage template to hide the primary content area and widen the widget area, so that it is just showing the thumbnails from your widget: https://nicholasbechgaard.com/
However, it seems that the thumbnails of the 2 most recent posts are not showing up. The code is there to link to them, eg:

]]>Hi, I like your plugin but I have an issue. I have the widget setup to grab the feature image of a post but it uses the full size picture for the thumbnail and just scales it down to a thumbnail size. I have a lot of images in my widget so this is a huge waste of bandwidth and make the page slow because the visitor loads all the full size images at once when they visit the page. Is there a way for the widget to grab a thumbnail size image instead of rescaling the full size one?

I have tried to set the bottom and top margin between the thumbnails, but it doesn’t seem to work. Right and left margins are working perfectly fine, but nothing changes when I change the numbers of px in the top and bottom margin.
How do I solve this?

]]>There seems to be an issue with the number of images that show up.
I have the widget set to show 9 thumbnails, and they rarely all show. I set all my thumbnails to the same size, but for some reason the widget doesn’t always fit all 9 images. A blank tile replaces the space/slot where the image is supposed to show, and it’s really random. Any ideas?
Usually after I hit refresh in my browser a few times, it will show correctly. (chrome, ie and safari on ipad)

I needed to add this to your get_posts arguments to respect the sort order I established in the media window:
‘orderby’ => ‘menu_order ID’,
I suspect this is what most people would expect when you say “first” thumbnail.
If I’m missing something, and/or this is necessary… no offense intended!

It shows perfectly well in Google chrome browser.
Bit in Internet Explorer the widget doesn’t show as if I haven’t ever installed it.
I have checked and refreshed my cache as well but with no result.

]]>Thanks for putting together an excellent plugin. Just set it up on my site and it is working fine.
One question though, is there a way to control thumbnail quality?
They appear to be rather blurry. I’m not sure how to enhance those. The thumbnail images are scaled to the thumbnail size in this widget and this causing problem especially for images that have smaller image dimensions compare to the widget thumbnail dimensions.
Any idea around this?
