I downloaded and installed it , and while there wasn’t an option of floating icons I wanted, it got the job done

The pro version of this plugin is a disaster. As soon as you activate it, it renders your menu items invisible. Also to get the full benefit of it you have to install the Classic Sidebar plugin as the block version is terrible.

I’d love to have a plugin like this but I can’t make it work. Best I can do is make a list of categories, but I can’t get it to list individual posts within a category. Tried everything. Nothing works. Not even sure if it’s supposed to display individual posts in a category. There’s no information in what might be laughlingly called ‘Documentation’. I spent a large chunk of my day trying to make this thing work and it simply does not work.

Thanks to developers, I just got what I wanted!

This plugin is extremely helpful in organizing our large site side navigation with many sections and sub sections. It’s also very customizable and easy to set up.
It’s extremely well thought out and can be used right out of the box or heavily customized.

Not working at twentytwentyone theme.

Advanced Sidebar Menus is a nice little plugin that does what it says it does right out of the box. All you have to do is place the correct widget (for page hierarchy OR post category hierarchy) in the right location. Good job!

This is great, I’m using this plugin on a site with more than 100 pages and half a dozen categories.
Previously to have different links on different pages. I made multiple sidebars. Keeping track in the widget area was work, with lots of clutter.
Returning to a site made months before to change something was a bit daunting.
This is so simple, if you are using pages, use the child parent relationship and for posts categories.
I use the default sidebar and two widgets, simple, clean, straightforward…
As long as I link the page with a parent or post with a category it’s all automatic…

It was working fine until last update.
Now child pages/categories doesn’t have identation anymore. It’s all together parent and child, it’s a mess. What did happen?

I tried the free version of Advanced Sidebar Menu and could not get it to show up. I went to try to contact the developer but was directed to use a support forum – which of course did not help.So it goes witout saying – I will not be using the pro version when the free does not show up and had no real way of notifying the plugin dev – except for here.

This is a very adaptable plugin. Now we can have the links we want on each page: Links to all of the main pages via the WordPress menu, and links to sub-pages with the Advanced Sidebar Menu. Now, instead of building a separate website for each of our Instructors, we can simply give them a few pages on the main website, and use the Advanced Sidebar Menu to provide links to only their pages. We haven’t experienced any problems with this plugin, it does the job just the way we expected it to.

Having auto-generated menus based on page hierarchy is an amazing feature that should be incorporated in WordPress! This is an amazing plugin. More importantly, it is great for developers since the author has selectors to identify how deep you are in the hierarchy (parent/child/grandchild) making CSS very clean and easy, without nesting.

Very useful and easy to use. When I ran into an issue this week, the plugin author looked at my site individually and updated the plugin to solve the issue. Couldn’t be happier.

This plugin is superb! A lifesaver and exactly what I needed. Thank you to the creator(s) for making such a great tool free and available for us! I couldn’t tell if this would create a different nav bar for different pages but it DOES – does everything I need it to. Highly recommend it!

Our organization is working to convert 3 support documents from InDesign > PDF to WordPress. Each of these documents include at least 60 pages. Converting the pages has been hours of work but building a sidebar TOC was a SNAP with Mat’s Advanced Sidebar Menu (and we got the PRO version)!
And, he answered a support question super-quick.
Thank you, Mat! YOU ABSOLUTELY ROCK!

This is a great replacement to the JC Submenu (RIP) plugin.

Install, activate, and drag to the sidebar in your widgets view, hit save, and you’re done. Lightweight and works straight away. Will use again.

The private intranet sites I’m working on have more than 600 – 700 pages organized into 8 sections, with varying access privileges to logged in users. We needed an auto-generated sidebar navigation panel listing all the pages within each section, with sub-sections.
I’ve been working thru tedious iterations of building various extensive custom menus per section, site-maps, dynamic sidebars and widgets…all ending up being a waste of time & resources compared to the ease, efficiency & functionality of this plug-in! I installed this plug-in on a dev site that has 400 pages and 5 sections – worked right ‘out-of-the-box’. Every page in each section has a custom sidebar list of parent/child/grand-children/etc sections with ALL the page links…with a single click! Impressive – and the last piece of the navigation puzzle we needed.
We have now bought the Pro version – unlimited site usage, one time fee – a total no-brainer, since the free version is so well built and simple to set up. Congratulations on the ONLY viable navigation plug-in solution for page-centric Word Press sites! Only wish I’d found this plug-in 2 months ago when I started trolling for better navigation solutions!

Basic version does nothing, nothing works, definitely I think the fact that I would not buy PRO

The plugin hit 200,000 downloads this week. Super excited about this milestone. So excited in fact that I have delegated more resources to development and support of this plugin.
This week has already some great improvements to the category widget as well as overall code structure to allow future enhancements. 1 medium release and 3 minor releases already live.
Stay Tuned for a bright future with this plugin!

Hi,
Thank you very much for this plugin!
I have been messing for days untill I finally asked myself the right question, wrote it in google, and found your plugin !!!
It hasn’t been tested with my version of WP yet, but I’ll keep you posted.
At the moment it works a treat !!!
(Yes I’m very happy ?? )

This plugin brings some amazing functionality by auto generating menus for page sidebars. It’s incredible how powerful this plugin is and it’s author is nothing short of brilliant! Well coded and so useful!

I love that I just added it to a sidebar, I used Display Widgets to choose where it should display and boom, I was basically done. I also LOVE that you ask whether to apply plugin styles or not. I can’t imagine the default styles being all that useful, I’d much prefer my theme to style it, which is exactly what I was able to do. Really happy with this. The markup is perfectly logical, clear, and consistent.
Here’s some screenshots of it working on a site I’m currently developing.

Does the job well. Super easy to configure. Thanks!
P.S. When “include parent page” option is checked, the children don’t show up. Not sure if it’s a theme-related glitch. The plugin does what I need otherwise.

This is a great little plugin that works as advertised, however, it needs improved styling. The styling out of the box is just awkward. Takes a few adjustments (additions to style.css) to make it look pretty.
