Amazon Link is a surprisingly powerful tool for displaying or linking to Amazon products from your site.
It can handle important tasks like changing links to the correct Amazon store based on the site visitor’s country, but also has many other options for retrieving and displaying items or categories of items directly from Amazon, and formatting it to your preferred layout.

I enter the affiliate ID and save the options on the Setup page, and it does not save. Consequently all Amazon links lack my affiliate ID. Update—apparently the text field in the main options is separate from the Affiliates page. It is confusing to have the main setup page with text fields for the Affiliate IDs that are nonfunctional.
Is there any way to create a template that uses the Medium size image? Coming from Amazon Link Builder there is a variable on there for it, but I’m not sure how to reference it here since you use IMAGE and THUMB as source while they use SMALL, MEDIUM, and LARGE.
The hover tips on Template Help do not work on Safari. I haven’t tried it on other browsers yet to see if it works at all. JavaScript is enabled and no ad blocking software is installed.
This plugin is clearly powerful but very difficult to use and the UX is confusing.

Paul Studdard just has created one of the best Amazon-Plugins I’ve seen.
i have seen alot of Amazon-plugins so far – but when i switched to Amazon-Link i was overwhelmed. i am already blown away by its flexibility and programmatic approach compared to some of the other plugins I tested. i really like the plugin’s functionality. I have just used it on a site I am working on and out of the box it’s great.
Conclusio: this is simply one of the very best WordPress Amazon plugins. Super easy to use and super-super powerful. You can do alot with this plugin. Paul has added lots of features.

Very easy to use and simplicity enables me to start using it almost immediately after installed it.

The AWS keys won’t validate. Amazon has updated their protocols and rendered the plugin useless for the time being. No further information available about workarounds available anywhere. No updates. No amazon affiliate links as a result.

alright guys, Sorry to be harsh on rating. It’s really a bad sign when a plugin’s website is down. There should be some kind of redirect or whatever in place.. I’m new to all of this and I know how to do that ??

Hi,
since I’m using your plugin, amazon links with more than one word are displayed incorrectly. Example:
1) “First” -> “First”
2) “First Second” -> “First 0=Second”
3) “First Second Third” -> “First 0=Second 1=Third”

Paul, Great plugin. It’s honorable of you not to set your own IDs as the default. But you might consider defaulting your own IDs as long as you have a clear and conspicuous message drawing people’s attention to this, and giving them clear instructions on how to change this setting. I think most people would be happy to support you in this way and would not consider you sneaky for it, since you would be making a special effort to draw attention to it.

This plugin is actually much more complex than what I needed, but it has the huge benefit of actually functioning.
All I needed was a plugin to pull the current product price from the Amazon API and display it in the text (or sometimes tables) of my articles. The earlier plugins that I’d used stopped working for no apparent reason.
With this plugin, I simply created a template with nothing but the %PRICE% tag. Now, when I add the shortcode with the ASIN in my articles, it shows up as the current price instead. Awesome.

I tried just about every Amazon Associates plugin in the WordPress repository, and this one is by far the best. It’s simple to use and set up, and it doesn’t make you sign with the plugin’s website and add their own API keys, which then force you into either getting the pro version or paying a monthly payment plan.
I had one problem with this plugin when I first installed it, which was the links were only showing my default Amazon store. As it turns out, if you use Cloudflare, you need to have the WordPress Cloudflare plugin installed so that your visitor’s IP is getting checked for the country, and not one of Cloudflare’s IPs. As soon as I figured that out, everything was golden again.

This plugin is great! Easy to use, and easy to support the developer also.
4 stars only because default location/redirect does not work (perhaps it’s not meant to?).
What I mean is: if friends in Germany click a link, they get the UK link that I am getting (while default is set to US). I would expect them to get the German Amazon. Oh well, hopefully the flags on hover will help them get to the right place.

Very complete Amazon plugin. Is very powerful, and having looked at all the others out there, this is the most flexible I found. As a result it might be a bit harder to implement if you want to do something complicated. The documentation could be more extensive to help with this, but in fairness, the support forum question was answered so quickly and well that it feels like a minor quibble.

I have more than 3,200 Amazon products on my WP site. These are hand-picked individual products that resided on the sidebar as a dropdown collapsible category function.

I had serious speed issues that kept me from using a couple of those traffic-getting folks on Fiverr.com. They both explained that it took too long for my site to load and they returned my cash.
It was true because I’d noticed it.
My programmer fixed the problem after a thorough look and he removed the plugin that allows the hierarchy of collapsing categories. The speed was immediately faster and I was happy until he told me that there isn’t another collapsible plugin that wouldn’t make my site slow again. So he fixed it the best he could which is what’s on there now.
To be honest — I’m not thrilled about his fix but he explained that the bottom line is that I have too many products and too many categories. Which is definitely slooowing the entire site down.
I had Geek Squad take a look but that’s not their area of expertise. Then I had HostGator look at it and they said this isn’t a server problem — that my site needed a programmer to take a look.
The programmer is pretty well-versed in what makes WordPress tick.
I’m here to find out if there’s a plugin he doesn’t know about that can get me back to the collapsing hierarchy that makes sense and doesn’t slow everything down.
