I have been using this plugin for over a year now (they just helped themselves to a renewal fee from my PayPal account) and honestly have never gotten comfortable with Appointy. The plugin isn’t much more than an i-frame in your web page. The rest of the software runs on the Appointy server and is quite feature-rich … along with all the features comes a learning curve.
One must be VERY CAREFUL when setting up a new service as you can easily involve staff members who should not be involved with the service you are adding – once the staff member is on there, I have not found a way to remove them. This means you need to delete the service and then re-add it from scratch.
Help? Good luck. If you are in the U.S. / Canada, you’re on the wrong side of the clock for these folks so Chat and Phone is only available for very slim time periods of your typical work day. There is no apparent way to get help by email.
I really wanted this to be my “forever solution”, but it’s just too much of a project to figure out the way these software designers think and then construct things in line with their idea of “logical” work flow.

I made the mistake of integrating Appointy with my wife’s business site for bookings three years ago and we never could get it to work properly. Further, they automatically billed my wife’s account for a years worth of premium service two days after she asked them to cancel and have refused to refund the payment. All in all, this is one of the worst businesses I’ve dealt with.
Here are the problems we’ve experienced:
1. Many of their paid features are unreliable, particularly the SMS reminders. They basically don’t work.
2. Their service management interface is excessively complicated— Each service has individual hours of availability. This means that if one person offers ten services and wants to change their overall availability, they have to edit each individual service. Blanket changes are difficult/impossible.
3. Their user interface for customers is antiquated.
4. They state that they have a refund policy but they actually do not have a refund policy. They will cancel your account at any time but they refuse to refund any payments that have been processed.
5. They publish and SEO a unique website for each customer that shows up in Google search results, and they refuse to support redirects when a customer migrates away from Appointy. Due to this, even though we’ve cancelled service, her old Appointy site keeps showing up in Google search results, misleading customers.
Bottom line is that if you use Appointy, they will take ownership of your online presence, refuse refunds, refuse to support redirects if you migrate away, provide a poor administrative experience for business owners and they advertise and sell features like SMS reminders that don’t work. Frankly, I doubt the veracity of the positive online reviews considering how bad this service is and how many other good options exist. You’ve been warned.

After you install this plugin you discover you must register on their site for the plugin to work.
If you enjoy the uncertainty of relying on a third party to keep your web apps working then this is a good plugin for you.
I’ve been online since 1991, building basic html sites since 1992, and doing SMB and corporate web sites, apps and marketing since 1996, and using WordPress only since 2008.
I’ve seen hundreds of third party services come and go–many in the WordPress plugin world.
I prefer to have fewer third party tools so that I know I can wake up tomorrow and my sites and my client sites will be working.
WordPress is a great framework and I always like free plugins with advanced services you pay for to get a reliable tool. I strongly dislike being required to keep my site connected to a third party site so that my apps will work.

I contacted them and get no reply – even though trying more than once. Then back before I used their system and it really took some time for them to approve payments I made through paypal, so instead when I thought I had paid and could get a service – then I had to wait and wait for some approval on it.

They’re clearly misleading people. It’s definitely not free if you need more than some very basic features.

You can’t customize anything with the free version. You have to pay a lot for that capability. too bad. It’s really expensive

You cant even register on their site, the coding is wrong for email authentication. Not a wordpress plugin they send you to their site.

Calling this a plug in is a bit much…it’s just an i frame that anyone wiht basic htlm skills could plop in on their own and all the programming is on their site…But it does seem to work and if you don’t like it at least it isn’t doing anything to your wp tables or install.
