thanks for your plugin – it’s awesome and I like it really much!

I’ve got two questions resp. feature requests:

1. I’d love to have a “load more” button when the users reach a certain number. because in my case it’s a blog for students and when a school has 300 students which have registered, the list gets very long. so it would by very handy, if there were just 20 showed and then there is a “load more” button for loading the next 20 users and so on.
2. for my “writers”-section: is it possible to limit the displayed users, so that they have at least written one article to get displayed in the list? maybe you can help me with some php code, I’d also pay for that customization if nobody else needs this functionality, but for me it’s crucial ??

We are testing out BuddyPress version 12. When using the Avatar Lists Block editor, we are unable to get BuddyPress fields to display (along with their name, which works fine). For example, we have a Location field. Even though it is selected in the Block’s options, it never displays along with the avatar. We’re using the Blocksy theme.

Any thoughts on what could be happening here? Could it be related to BuddyPress version 12?

The error_log file on my website repeatedly shows me the following error:

I found the error because my website has been experiencing high spikes in CPU and memory usage. I don’t know if this is related to the error I’m talking about. I notice that the error started appearing on October 14 of this year. My website works with PHP 8.1.

Hello there!

Inspecting my website, I found that the plugin generates a lot of duplicate queries to the database. See here the screenshot: https://snipboard.io/krxzjD.jpg

They are fast, and I do not believe that it impacts a lot on the front-end speed, as this page is cached when served to the users, but I think it can cause an overload on the database. Is there something to do to reduce these queries, or to optimize them?

I use a theme that hosts avatars there own way and not like traditional backend avatar.

the meta key is betube_get_image_url or betube_author_avatar_url.

Is there way to implement this with this plugin? I tried the other author list plugin to no avail.

Hi, any ideas why about 80% of our avatars are lost and in gravatar website there is just the general thumbnail?? Is it possible to use images saved directly on our server instead of gravatar’s???

First, thank you for your plugin. I have two questions.

1. I originally built my site on PHP 8.0, but there were a lot of issues so I had to revert to PHP 7.4. When researching your plugin I came across this info: Author Avatars List/Block Version 2.1.12 has warning for PHP 7.4 and WordPress 6.1.1.

2. Once having reverted the site to PHP 7.4, I am also getting this particular warning in my error log:

When I tried to use this to make a block on a page, it starts by showing the busy ‘dot’ and after a minute or so it stops and nothing shows, not even the options.

I have a list of users who create events with Events manager.
It would be nice if their latest event could be shown in the author list.

So would it be an idea to include more post types in the query for ‘show link to authors last post’ ? Like for instance ‘events’ , ‘topics’ (bbpress) ?

Hello,

I have created all users, uploaded images for them than moved the website from dev to live website. In db changed all old urls with new domain name, uploaded everything and lost all images. Same for backend users page and for frontend.
All data is in xxx_usersmeta, I didnt change table_prefix or anything else.

Any ideea how can I fix this?

I would like to be able to show custom/translatable field labels in the avatar list,like:

(Author X Image)
(Display Name)
Email (label): (display email)
Last post (label): (display Link to last post)

Would that be hard to add?

User avatars are cropped to 1:1 defined by avatar_size=.

So if avatar_size=170. Avatar will be displayed 170×170.

How can I avoid that cropping? Our avatar images are 0.71:1

In WP 6.0 I encountered the following errors attempting to use the new block (thanks for making a block for the avatar list btw!)

1: Which Roles to display displays no roles. No further options after choosing color. Delete the block, re-add it, and then the options display as anticipated. Interesting.

2: When changing the avatar size from 50 to about 150 the block crashed and displays: “This block has encountered an error and cannot be previewed.”

Bio is only showing about 10 words. I need it to show two paragraphs. Can’t find a control to adjust the No. of words shown, or the size of the frame in which the words sit. Can’t link to the page as it isn’t live yet.

I have four authors showing with photos, name and first few words of bio.

Perhaps some kind of Gravatar cache feature could improve this?

Firstly thanks, this plugin has offered a solution to a problem that’s been bugging me for weeks as there’s seems to be next to nothing else that allows a simple solution for displaying a list of users, in my case team members, with their avatars.

I was wondering if there was a way to expand it at all to include custom fields generated on the user profile using acf?

I have three in mind which are Job title, Qualifications and Start date

At the minute, I pull them using the standard Bio field but would be great if I could separate them out individually.
