Thanks.
Hi,
It looks like the link to the “full profile” isn’t working. This link appears in the sidebar on the post page. It should go to an author page and not to their other posts.

Here is the link to one of the posts on my website : https://pithandsubstance.com/2016/08/24/court-order-not-suggestion-fines-imprisonment-civil-contempt-court/
Can you please provide me with detailed instructions or css so that the full profile link directs to their webpage and not their ” other posts ” page.
Thanks

Hi!
I’m looking at using this plugin… but…
This plugin looks like it still works fine with Co-Authors Plus, but it hasn’t been updated in a very long time.
Even if no changes have been made, or even need to be made, you really should issue an update to the plugin so that WordPress doesn’t remove it from the repository as an abandoned plugin.
Hi there, I just recently installed this plugin and I have 1 problem and 1 question:
1. The social icons are not appearing even though I followed all the instructions and typed in the proper info in the User profile
2. Is there any way to have line breaks between paragraphs in the author bio?
Here is my site: https://www.nutsandboltsspeedtraining.com/spicypresentations
Thanks for your help and great plugin!

The suggested installation code works great for standard users, but I would like to be able to edit these fields for guest authors too. Any thoughts appreciated.
I have two plugins that add Twitter to user’s profile so I changed yours to wp_twitter in the functions.php as well as in author-profile.php, but somewhere along the line, the icon for twitter isn’t showing up in the widget is, there something else I can do to fix it? your plugin requires the whole url, while the other only requires @somename
Hi there
Your Author spolight plug in is great! I was just wondering how you add social media profiles for authors eg. Twitter, Facebook etc. as the standard WP profile does not have fields for this.
I have looked for other plugins that change fields in the profile but I can’t find any that add things like Twitter handles of Facebook usernames. I’m not good at code so a solution that does not involve complicated code would be good!
Also is it possible to increase the padding and wrap the text around the photo?
Thanks

How can I display de Author Spotlight (Widget) in an Author page?
Almost all plugins have codes so that we can install it manually

Hi,
First off great job! This widget is a core part of a website I run which showcases organisations and people. Perfect for the job.
I was wondering if there was any way to support additional social media networks? In particular I have a lot of users and potential users who are music artists and use Soundcloud and Mixcloud. Having icons for these two would make my life so much easier…is there any way this can be done?
Thanks for your help!
Paul
I have a need to hide the author information on some posts. The easiest way I see that is a box that if checked would display and/or hide the author bio. Another way would be to create a category and modify the plugin to display or hide based on the category selection (if HideAuthor category was selected for instance).
However, I’m not entirely sure how to affect this change. I’ve tried changing this
if(!$isHome && (is_single() || is_page()) && $authordata->ID){
but anywhere I add the is_category(’40’) option either causes the plugin to not display on any post, or it continues to display on every post. I think I am missing something simple in the syntax, I just don’t know what. ??
I write in a blog in which there are at least 15 authors. For that reason we installed this (awesome) plugin and we’re really pleased with it.
Nevertheless, our blog has some pages in which we would prefer for an author not to appear (such as the “About us” or “Contact” pages).
Is this possible?
Great plugin!
I am trying to get the widget to display the author’s email and phone number displayed in the widget (which has been filled out on the standard author page in the WP-admin).
Is that possible somehow?

First off, thank you for this great plug-in. I’m very happy with the widget, and if this is possible, it will be perfect for my purpose.
I want to show author info for every post except ones that are posted by ‘admin’, which is basically me.
Thank you very much.
I need help in customizing widget title. How and where should I add code f.e.
$before_title = ‘
’;
$after_title = ‘
’; (which I have in others widgets)
Or is it any other way to make this widget title custom background and font color?
Hi,
I have Author Spotlight installed, activated and placed on the right sidebar between other widgets. I’ve filled in my profile. I also got a Gravatar. But Author Spotlight doesn’t show up on my blogpage. The other widgets do.
These are the versions:

Can you please help me?

Hi,
I have a page template where I display all posts where the category of the post matches the slug of the page title. For some reason the widget doesn’t show in the sidebar on these pages. The template file looks like this and I suspect that the page author is lost in some way when the part that starts with “Senaste inl?ggen:” of the template is run. Could you please help me understand how to solve this?
Template code:
<?php
/*
Template Name: Avdelning
*/
?>
<?php get_header(); ?>

<?php while ( have_posts() ) : the_post(); ?>

<?php the_title(); ?>

<?php the_content(''); ?>

?

<?php
$options = get_option('ci_theme_options');
if(isset($options['ci_allowcomments_pages'])) : ?>

<?php comments_template( '', true ); ?>

<?php endif; ?>
<?php endwhile;?>

Senaste inl?ggen:

<?php
$post_obj = $wp_query->get_queried_object();
$post_ID = $post_obj->ID;
$post_title = $post_obj->post_title;
$post_slug = $post_obj->post_name;
?>
<?php query_posts('category_name='.$post_slug.'&post_status=publish,future');?>
<?php if ( have_posts() ) : while ( have_posts() ) : the_post(); ?>

<a href="<?php the_permalink(); ?>"><?php the_title(); ?>

<?php the_content(); ?>
<?php endwhile; else: endif; ?>

<?php

<?php get_footer(); ?>

Hi – great plugin.
I’m using this on a Buddypress installation and it works great, however I’d like to customize the plugin to include various xprofile fields including location, about me, etc
Is there a way to do this?
Thanks,

Hi,
Thanks for a fantastic plugin.
I am using Profile Builder (3rd Party) to create a custom registration. I have custom fields at registration and I can call them with the following code:
<?php
if ( function_exists('wppbc_get_custom_fields') ) {
$wppbc_author = wppbc_get_custom_fields();
}
echo get_the_author_meta( $wppbc_author[2]['item_metaName'], $author_id ); ?>
Is there a way I can output this in your sidebar?
It will just be text. Thanks
Elliot

Do you plan to support linking to Google+ profiles “out of the box”? ??
Hi,
I’m using Author Spotlight and like it alot. I used the standard code suggested in the FAQ. However, I would like to have the text for the author in the box fully aligned. I tried to alter the code accordingly with “align: justify” but that did not work.
Does anyone have an idea how to help me?
Best

I love this plugin. A feature a competing plugin has is to only show the widget if a post is NOT by the admin/default author. How can this be achieved with this plugin?
Hi i was just wondering if its possible to use the Author Spotlight (Widget) plugin with a shortcode to insert into a theme?
Hi.. I’ve got this installed, coupled with About the Author Advanced and still can’t seem to get it ‘there’.
I’ve got 43 authors.. If I could just include the phone and/or email that is in their user profile, I would be set!
Can you tell me if this is easily done?
