Looks like this plugin hasn’t been updated for a long time, however it still seems to work really nicely. Great little plugin for sites that have an emphasis on author based content. If you need admins to be able to easily assign authors without dealing with a cumbersome dropdown of every single user, then this is awesome for that.

This plugin is a must-have when using CPTs. The native author metabox for WP does not account for CPT authoring capabilities. This plugin does. Thus, instead of allowing only selection of users able to author posts, it allows selection of users. able to author the CPT. This should find a way to core. Thank you for an excellent plugin!

One of our WP installations has thousands of user accounts, and this plugin is extremely easy to use, and a great time saver for our editors. We quickly find the correct user account by searching, instead of being forced to scroll through a long, long list of users.
