Hi, does this plugin also works when the website is being displayed on an iPad?
My problem with the iframe-tag is that it sometimes works on an iPad and sometimes it doesn’t.
Kind regards
Saskia

This plugin is perfect for what we need, but unfortunately the page becomes unresponsive. Script seems to freeze. Is there anything that can be done about this error? do you think his error is causing the whole page to freeze up?
The below is what we see in the console.
Uncaught ReferenceError: AutoiFrameAdjustiFrameHeight is not defined
at HTMLIFrameElement.onload
Hi Greg,
thanks for your plugin. I have only one problem:
This is a phpBB forum and the height adjustment doesn’t seem to work here. Therefore I changed the height to 2000px:
[auto-iframe link=https://forum.hessburg.de height=2000px autosize=yes]
If I leave out the height, only the header is displayed.
Regards
Michael
Thank you for developing this great plugin.
The plugin works great, but I am having a problem with outbound/destination pages. When I click on a link (which is in the same domain) it loads in the same position of the previous page, not at the top. I wish that it would always go to the top of the new destination page. How can I solve this?
I am using only internal-same domain pages (no cross domain)
Please help.
I don’t send you the page I need help with because I had to disable the plugin due to this behavior.

Doesn’t work.
Any chance to make the content same height as teh source (I won the source – https://bon.bonology.com (using FreshRSS.org script which has both index.php and index.html in the folder)

They only seem to work when you right-click and ‘open in a new tab’. Is this a bug or a clashing CSS property? I like readers to be able to click/tap once to follow the hpyerlink. Thanks
Hello,
I have been using this plugin for about 3 years and it has stopped loading the iframe url for quiet some times. I am using this plugin to display an URL external to my website. I am not sure but I think it is because the url it now https instead of http.
On Google Chrome I am the following error :
***.com refused to connect.
and an Firefox I have this one :
Blocked by X-Frame-Options Policy
An error occurred during a connection to ***.com.
Firefox prevented this page from loading in this context because the page has an X-Frame-Options policy that disallows it.
Is this fixable? I wasn’t able to find a work around.
Thank you in advance for your help!

Hi, first of all: Amazing plugin. I really like the simplicity.
Can you please clarify the scrolling option?
I used the following shortcode:
[auto-iframe link=https://lewinlorenz.de scroll=yes tag=xxx width=100% height=1000px autosize=yes]
The scrolling still doesn’t work.
Thanks a lot
Hi
Your plugin works perfectly, but it is also importing the ‘awesome bar’ for me from Mailchimp email campaigns. Why is that? How can I get rid of it?
Thanks!
Arjun
First off, awesome plugin. Much thanks. The autoresize was exactly what I was looking for. My post, though, is a slight issue I’m having. It’s with the width. By default, the width is 100%. However, when I set a URL in an iframe on my site there seems to be some extra padding on the right and left side of the iframe. There’s about 25px or so of padding on each side of the iframe. I have an SMF forum in the iframe. The forum is installed on the same domain as my main WordPress site. The forum is in a subdirectory.
If I compare the two views I can see the difference. That is, if I look at my forum directly (i.e. not via iframe) it’s about 25px wider on each side as compared to when I view it in the iframe. I thought that it could be my theme (ColorMag), but I’m using the “No Sidebar Fully Width) layout in the theme. Also, when I view other content on my site using that layout, I don’t have that extra 25px padding on each side. Therefore, i’ve ruled that out. Unless there’s some unknown conflict between the plugin and my WP theme.
Hello, I’m trying to embed this adobe spark page: https://spark.adobe.com/page/YfqJaMg6UcDqy/ on to a web page and would like it so it fits on my webpage exactly how you would see it if viewing the original page. Is there a way to set the height to the full screen? So that when using on a mobile and desktop it still works properly?
Thanks a lot
Hi.
Thanks for the plugins, which help us a lot.
Please add also the ‘name’ attribute to the iframe. This will allow the iframe to be used as the target frame for a link.
It can be done by simple changing the ln173 in /auto-iframe.php to the following:
$result .= '<iframe id="' . $tag . '" name="' . $tag . '" src="' . $link . '" width="' . $width . '" height="' . $height . '" frameborder="' . $border . '" scrolling="' . $scroll . '"' . $onload_autosize . '>';
Thanks again
Lena
Not sure if you are interested, but this may help with making this cool plugin work with cross domains:
https://davidjbradshaw.github.io/iframe-resizer/
https://github.com/davidjbradshaw/iframe-resizer
Have been using the iFrame Resizer for few years without any issues.
Maybe you could consider incorporating the code into Auto iFrame plugin. Certainly make it the best iFrame plugin on the repository:)

Hi, sorry for my bad english.
I’have install the plugin and add this code in a page
[auto-iframe link=https://www.ikawalieridiakashi.it/index.php/test tag=store width=100% height=100% autosize=true]
Work perfectly in safari (iphone and ipad), but in google chrome, firefox, edge or oder browser installed in the pc won’t work and not resize de height…
Help ??
Hi,
I got the following in the browser console.
auto-iframe.js:6 Uncaught DOMException: Failed to read the ‘contentDocument’ property from ‘HTMLIFrameElement’: Blocked a frame with origin “[my website url]” from accessing a cross-origin frame.
at AutoiFrameAdjustiFrameHeight ([my website url]/wp-content/plugins/auto-iframe/auto-iframe.js:6:13)
Any idea why is it doing this?
Thank you.
Hi Greg
I’m using Auto iFrame at my site here: https://positivepowerandinfluence.co.uk/quiz/
It works great so thanks for creating it. However, I’m trying to find a solution so that each subsequent page in the frame loads at the top. At the moment, on a smartphone, once you scroll, the next page will just load at the scroll point, resulting in what looks like a blank page to the user.
In a normal iFrame, I think you could use something like onload=”scroll(0,0) but can you do this within your shortcode? Or is there another solution that you know of?
Excuse my lack of technical ability and thanks very much for your help.
Dear, Author!
After activating your plugin I’m getting spammed by a ReferenceError.
The error I get is: AutoiFrameAdjustiFrameHeight is not defined
All that has been done is: activated the plugin and added a shortcode to a post.
Could it be because it’s added in a modal?
Best Regards
Hi, I’ve installed the Auto iFrame on one of my websites and it’s been working fine.
However, this plug-in isn’t working properly on my other website and would only display the top of the intended webpage. Here’s an example:
https://www.frankproperty.asia/test/
Here’s the code:
[auto-iframe link=https://www.realestate.com.au/property-apartment-qld-hamilton-418910438]
Just can’t figure out why and am frustrated. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks!
On a WP page (parent) I have a link to another WP page (child). That second page 9child) simply includes an auto-iframe link. So looks something like this:
[auto-iframe link=”https://www.mydomain.com/cgi-bin/mysearch.pl?show=%5BLINK_ID%5D”%5D
What I would really like is to be able to do is to pass the parameter LINK_ID from the parent to the child page.
I can put the auto-iframe code in the parent page, but then it does not include the rest of the content from the child page.
Can this passing a parameter be done?
Is there another way of doing this with auto-iframe?
Or a completely different approach?
Thanks.
I like this plugin for its simplicity and auto-height function.
What I would really like to be able to do is when an image is selected in the iframe is for it to get displayed using a Lightbox feature.
Anyone know a method to achieve this?
Thanks.
First off great plugin Greg. I haven’t used iframes for some time and had to for a client project. Your plugin works VERY well and has saved me having to deploy a WP multisite for this client who has to make dozens and dozens of customized landing pages off of one site!
One thing I can’t seem to solve, however, is the 185px of extra margin/padding below every page or post. My shortcode is: [auto-iframe link=/pathto/page/ width=100% height=100% autosize=yes fudge=0] but I don’t seem to be able to identify where to modify, create or update padding or margin to eliminate all of that extra space.
I just created a page with text and embedded it within the iframe. the autosizing calculation made it 707px in height and that content NOT in an iframe displayed at 485px in height.
Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Hi, is there a way to add some CSS styles to elements in page within iframe?
Hey – great plugin
except that the height of the iframe doesn’t respond much – with autosize on default it’s only half the height require – with autosize on no, it’s even smaller

Hi,
first of all, congrats on this plugin, it is exactly what i was looking for, thank you.
I have a page with multiple iframes, that in a first instance are hidden (css display none). Those iframes are displayed one by one through js, through user intervention.
The error Cannot read property ‘offsetHeight’ of null shows up in a sort of loop mode when the page loads.
The iframes are correctly resized, but console throws that error on an irregular basis, in some refreshes the error shows 5 times, on others it can go until 128 times.
the website is still on localhost, so i can’t provide an url.
I wanted to ask you if you have any idea of why this is happening.
Any thought would be highly appreciated.
thank you very much,
Janica
Hi,
Your plugin is 100% useful to me, as I needed an iFrame that adjusts to the height of the content! Works perfect! Thanks!
Just I quick question:
My parent url is this: https://gocycle.com/storegerman/
And the iframe is here: https://gocycle.com/de/test/
In the shortcode width=”100%”. Why the iFrame is narrower than the parent? Could I fix this?
Many thanks!
