I really like this plugin. It makes explaining WordPress a lot easier, because for new users it confusing that they need to keep the page hierarchy for permalinks, but also have to manually create a menu structure.
Today I had the situation that somebody somehow managed to ignore the page hierarchy but still have the pages in submenus. I was confused how the person was able to do that and then I found that they can still edit the menu in the WordPress customizer.
To be beginner-proof, I think this plugin should also show a warning when the user tries to edit the WordPress main menu in the customizer.
]]>Hello,
Your plugin is perfectly doing it’s job.
I am looking for polylang support (one auto menu per lang).
I saw you did already answered this question but it was 4 years ago.
Did you reconsider this point since ?
If not are you able to give some clue to achieve that ?
Best regards,
Henri
Hi,
It seems pages appear in the order they were created. That order is unfortunately not very logical (at least not for me). Could you add a checkbox and when ticked it sorts each menu item alphabetically. Ideally it would sort alphabetically for each hierarchical level (sub-pages would be sorted under their overarching page). I would appreciate if this could be fixed. It would increase the usefulness of this plugin.
]]>When attempted to translate this plugin to Swedish, I stumbled upon a HUGE string that probably would be better off not as a “translatable string”, since it seems to be an inline SVG.

Hi,
Great. This is really what I need for a site with some 1500 pages (and growing…).
But the site is on a shared server and the sync operation seems to time-out, the “syncing hourglass” continues revolving forever.
PHP execution limit is set to 50 seconds and I can’t raise it.
I still think it should be possible to run a sync, but perhaps one would need to split the task into chunks that are run consecutively until the full sync is ready?
I’m not that good at coding, but I still could try to have a look. Is there any github project for this plugin?
]]>Hi. I am using WP 4.8.1 and I would like to hide one of my pages from the Auto Menu. There’s a checkbox for that, but unfortunatly it has no effect. After updating the page with the checkbox checked still appears… Any hints? Thanks

]]>Would it be possible to offer an option in this plug-in that child pages are put on the next level in the menu?
Now all pages end up on the same level creating an undesirable situation.
Where do I remove the permanent effects of this plugin? It did not have the intended affect, and just messed up my layout. After I deactivated it and deleted it, it’s still showing my site menu all messed up. What files do I need to recover to actually remove this?

]]>As great as this plugin is, I am running a Multisite/Network installation and it’s only working on the main site. On all the other sites, the menu doesn’t get populated.
Question: is this plugin Multisite-ready? If not, would it be a long path to adapt it to become Network-ready?
Thanks, Mario

You state:
This plugin has the ability to automatically sync your menu after pages are modified, however the feature is turned off by default as it can create significant overhead. To turn it on, use the provided amfp_auto_sync_menu filter and set it to true, like so:
add_filter( ‘amfp_auto_sync_menu’, ‘__return_true’ );
I have no idea what this means.
Where do I find this filter so I can edit it? Thanks
Is this plugin compatible with WPML?
Thank you!
Hi,
How can I include this plugin in a child theme?
If I do the CSS and JS files are not loaded.

Hello,
the hierarchy of my pages is correct, but when in the same hierarchy, they’re not sorted alphabetical, but on last-modified date.
Can I change this somehow?

Thanks for the plugin. I know that there is no option to edit the menus as they are autogenerated, but would there be an option to assign an alias or alternative page title for the menus?
I use long descriptive page titles, but in my menus only the main keyword(s) as else the menus will be too wide.
Cheers,
Bike
Hi, thanks for the great plugin.
However it does not work when Advanced Page Manager is activated: I get most pages in the menu, but not the correct hierarchy (some child pages are correct, most are on top/parent level.)
When I switch off Advanced Page Manager (which is a very useful backend plugin), then the generated menu works as intented.
Is there a way you can make both work together?
Cheers, Bike

Hi,
The plugin doens’t work with WP 4.4
Fatal error: Using $this when not in object context in /Applications/AMPPS/www/wp/wp-content/plugins/auto-menu-from-pages/admin/class-auto-menu-from-pages-admin.php on line 345
Could you fix this?

]]>What are the page and subpages order?
]]>Great plugin! I just noticed that because my dropdown sub menu list is a lot of pages it’s getting clipped at the bottom of the browser. You can see in this screen shot where cities (pages) are only listed in the sub menu till the bottom of the browser. https://imgur.com/kyX90VV
Expected interesaction would be that when a user scrolls down the rest of the sub menu items would appear.
Maybe there is a setting that fixes this that I missed(?)
Thanks!
